Don't Join This Circus!!!
My fiancé and I were genuinely excited to move especially into this community, but this entire experience has completely shifted our perspective, and it’s unfortunate that we are now not looking forward to our stay here.
From day one, the unit was NOT properly prepared for move-in. There was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the townhouse that multiple people including maintenance and vendors acknowledged. Despite this, management had continuously attempted to downplay or deny the issue... altogether.
Because of the condition of the unit, we were unable to fully occupy the space for several days(a total of 5). The carpet had to be repeatedly treated, and an ozone machine was placed in the home, requiring us to stay out of the unit for an extended period. We were also instructed not to place furniture on the carpet, making it unrealistic to live there comfortably. Yet somehow, this is still being labeled as “move-in ready.”
We requested to be credited for the days we were unable to stay in the unit, and even with all of these circumstances, no credit has been provided. Instead, the property manager attempted to justify the condition of the unit by stating the property is a “40+ year old complex.” The age of a property is not an excuse for a unit not being properly prepared for a NEW resident.
As a new resident, I should not have to continuously follow up, reiterate concerns, or advocate for BASIC STANDARDS to be met especially when a proper move-in inspection and preparation process should have prevented these issues entirely.
There has been a complete lack of accountability, no apology, and no sense of urgency. If this were a situation involving your own household or loved ones, I highly doubt the response would be the same.
I will say that the Assistant Manager, Ms. Finch, has been the only individual who has shown any level of professionalism. She has apologized for the inconvenience and expressed genuine empathy during the times my fiancé and I have spoken with her. Unfortunately, that level of care has not been reflected across the rest of the management team.
As someone who also works in the property management field, I understand that issues can arise, but how they are handled makes all the difference. Unfortunately, this has been handled with a level of disregard that reflects poorly on the management team.
If you are considering moving here, I STRONGLY suggest you stay away from this circus and thoroughly reconsider your options.
