2018 Sports Calendar

Road trip, anyone? Whether you’re traveling for business or traveling for fun, it’s not too early to start planning trips around major sporting events in the United States. Maybe extend a business trip for a little “bleisure.” Perhaps gather up some friends for a sports-centric vacation.

To spark your planning, here are details on major sporting events of 2018 around the U.S. Two of them will take you to Minneapolis (pictured above) in winter and summer. Note: Exact dates and, of course, the teams are to be determined in some cases.

Super Bowl LII

Date: February 4, 2018 (events starting Jan. 26)

City: Minneapolis, Minnesota

About the City: Minneapolis makes up one-half of the Twin Cities and it is the second-largest economic center in the Midwest (behind Chicago). Minneapolis is graced with 13 lakes, the Mississippi River, and dozens of creeks and waterfalls. It’s also home to the Grand Rounds National Scenic Byway. If you’re going to the game, bring warm clothes because Minneapolis is quite cold in February with the average high still below freezing.

Why Stay A While: Though the actual football game is Feb. 4, Super Bowl-related events will start Jan. 26 with the Super Bowl Experience at the Minneapolis Convention Center and Super Bowl LIVE, a 10-day fan festival, on Nicollet Mall.
