Worst Leasing Office
I've lived here for two full years, so I feel entitled to give an honest review of this apartment. And I have to come down hard on one thing: the leasing office. It is the worst leasing office I've dealt with during my entire time in Los Angeles.
The leasing office staff will always tell you she's off today, and then you simply can't find her anywhere. Emails go almost entirely ignored, or get a reply only after a week or two. Even though the staff member is right there in the office, you can... never actually reach her. She'll say she'll handle your issue today, but in reality it takes several days before anything gets done. I'm truly fed up with it—and every resident at The Emerson feels exactly the same way.
When it comes to referral bonuses, she's perpetually vague. Sometimes she says you have to notify the leasing office before the prospective tenant's first visit; other times she says the new tenant has to fill out a form during their first tour. The official website has a designated spot to enter referral information, yet she'll tell you she can't see the information there—which is absolutely ridiculous. Over my time here I referred at least five people, but in the end I only received the referral bonus for one of them.
I will say that every other employee in this building is wonderful—whether it's the cleaning staff or the front desk, they all help you like friends. It's only the leasing office staff who are perpetually unresponsive.
On top of all this, there's constant construction going on right outside the building. It starts at seven or eight every morning, making it impossible to sleep in. The most outrageous part is that this construction has been going on for a full six months, wearing me down to the point of nervous exhaustion—and you never know when it's actually going to end. Yet despite all this, they keep relentlessly raising the rent. Combined with this terrible leasing office, this apartment has been completely ruined. I strongly advise anyone considering moving in not to.
