Too bad
The managers here are extremely, extremely difficult to reach.
For an entire year, our downstairs neighbor kept complaining about noise, even though we were living with extreme caution — literally walking on tiptoe. Despite this, we were repeatedly complained about, and security knocked on our door several times in the middle of the night. The security officers’ own reports confirmed that no noise was coming from our unit. At one point, staff even entered our apartment for a so-called “noise... inspection,” which was extremely disruptive. After moving into our new apartment three weeks ago, we have had zero complaints, which clearly shows the problem was never us.
The garage exit is blocked by large trash bins, completely obstructing the view. I even had a car accident there because of this.
Lease renewal pricing was also non-transparent, leaving us unable to negotiate fairly.
Because of all these issues, we decided to move out when our lease ended.
The most serious problem now is the security deposit. I moved out on August 15, 2025. Today is September 10, 2025 — well past the 21-day legal deadline under California Civil Code §1950.5 for returning the deposit. Our deposit was $750. The managers promised to return $500, but to this day, not even that amount has been paid.
I have written countless emails to follow up, but no one replies.
Throughout our one-year tenancy, we always respected the lease, followed every rule, and kept our commitments. I expect the same from management: follow the law and return the deposit without further delay.
If management resolves this issue properly, I will update my review to reflect the resolution.
