A Warning to Look Elsewhere for a Place to Call Home
I moved into TAVA Waters 16 years ago, back when it was proudly known as The Breakers, one of Denver’s premier luxury communities. At that time, it lived up to the promise — quiet, upscale, and well-managed. Sadly, the property has since undergone a dramatic decline, and I recently made the decision to leave.
What was once peaceful and refined is now noisy, chaotic, and visibly neglected. Poor tenant screening and weak management have eroded the sense of community and stability. Safety is a... major concern: tailgating through gates is rampant, clubhouse parties are out of control, and there have been incidents so serious they required police, SWAT, and fire rescue. Yet management offers no clear answers about preventing firearms misuse or protecting residents from harm.
High rents should come with safety, care, and accountability — instead, residents face dismissive communication, slow maintenance, and indifference. Scripted apologies from staff only mask the reality: management has abandoned its responsibility. Even on my last day, the leasing agent’s indifference underscored how little they value residents.
I never imagined I’d feel this way in a place I once called home. If you’re seeking a secure, well-run community, please look elsewhere.
