STEER CLEAR
My neighboring unit had a fire and as a result sprinkler water leaked over into my unit. The maintenance staff came in and took pictures and left me to clean the water up myself. I put in a maintenance request to have them take care of it, and they stopped by and told me the "other units are worse and take priority." As far as I'm concerned, they should have hired additional help if they didn't have the resources. I sent in another maintenance request reminding them that I pay rent for my unit,... not the other units, so I need them to come take care of it. They basically just painted over the spot where the water came through and called it a day.
I've had other maintenance requests sit there for over a month without being addressed.
I was being charged a monthly fee for not having renters insurance, even though I did have renters insurance but their online verification system requires a different address format than our actual address. Because of concern that this may cause issues in the future if I ever had to file a claim, I refused to update the address format. It sounded sketchy. After fighting with them for months they were finally able to get my insurance verified. When questioned about refunding me for the months I maintained valid insurance but was getting charged, I was ignored. The issue with the verification platform is obviously much too profitable for them to address.
Other buildings have gone weeks without heat or AC due to their old HVAC systems. I know one building went without heat during the coldest week in the year.
The insides of the buildings are falling apart and in disrepair, meanwhile the outsides of the buildings are constantly being fixed so that the property has a perfectly manicured appearance to new renters. Laundry machines are old and constantly break. Same with the cardio machines in the gym. The elevator in my building was broken for an entire month. There is mold in the HVAC systems.
They frequently have construction crews come and work right outside your window early in the morning without any warning whatsoever.
Most recently, there has been a string of car break ins, in one case someone's car was even stolen. When asked if they have any plans to implement deterrence measures, such as hiring a security company short term to monitor the parking lots, I was ignored. Multiple residents have been demanding answers on this and we are all getting ignored.
