Constant Issues and Unprofessional Management
A seven year renter here and left for a much better renting situation here in Plainville after constant issues and difficult relationships with management. From day one, we moved into a unit claiming to be ready following renovations only to have to remove dust and debris for days to be move in ready. Not once did they offer to clean for us or commit to making sure this was fixed.
Over seven years, I lost hot water, heat, and air conditioning. Hot water was a constant issue with the boiler... acting up regularly and was a yearly issue. Last summer, I lost air conditioning at a poor time with temps 100+ for several days in a row. Management was extremely slow to react, leaving me with no AC for several days and never offered assistance or any kind of remedy. I had to seek out an alternative place to stay as it was simply too hot and unsafe.
Any issue in general was slow to be resolved, weekend help was pretty much nonexistent, you really only could get ahold of someone during business hours. Constant excuses like “we have a lot of units” or “our repair man is really busy” left me feeling neglected or made to feel bad for thinking repairs or help would come sooner.
This complex is owned by a large, out of state group who doesn’t show too much compassion to their renters. It certainly is obvious with some of their make shift or cheap repairs. The bushes around my windows were so tall over the years that I lost the ability to look out of my windows fully. Part of the building has shifted, so some floors slant ever so slightly or some doors are tough to open. I had to yank my bedroom closet door open daily as it was so tight when closed. These are old units so repairs are common and that’s understandable, however, it’s unacceptable to provide bare minimum maintenance and normalize the kind of poor customer service that they provided during these constant issues.
Their contract renewal process tries to lock tenants in months prior to the lease being up, making it hard to leave. If you’re wanting a stress free, clean, issue free renting environment with accessible management around the clock, this certainly isn’t for you. The prior reviewers’ summary summed up many of the issues that I ran into. Seems like it’s a common theme here.
