Worst Management Ever !!!!
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH PARKLINE AND HARBOR GROUP.
We were planning to MOVE OUT after living at ParkLine for almost two years with ZERO late rent payments. ParkLine convinced us to stay by offering TWO MONTHS FREE and prepared a renewal lease that clearly states a $0 SECURITY DEPOSIT.
We trusted THEIR written offer and signed.
Then AFTER we signed, suddenly we were told: pay a FULL MONTH’S RENT as a security deposit or continue paying for Obligo. If we want to leave instead, we are told we could... face a huge termination penalty.
How is this fair? PARKLINE prepared the lease. PARKLINE wrote $0 deposit. PARKLINE offered two months free to convince us to stay. And now, after getting our signatures, they are demanding additional money.
I even tried to find a fair solution. I explained that if you are now requiring us to pay a full month’s rent as a deposit, then the original two-month-free offer no longer feels like the deal we agreed to. I asked them to make it two and a half months to offset this unexpected financial requirement. Their response? “We cannot modify the lease.”
So they cannot modify the lease to find a fair solution for the tenant — but they can demand additional money AFTER we signed a lease stating $0 security deposit?
We feel completely cornered: PAY THE DEPOSIT, PAY OBLIGO, OR FACE A PENALTY TO LEAVE.
After almost two years of perfect payment history, this treatment is incredibly unfair and disappointing.
As a real estate agent, after this experience I would NEVER recommend ParkLine or Harbor Group to my clients. Residents should be able to trust the written terms they are given BEFORE they sign.
