Preserve at Mill Creek

American Landmark took over about 2 months ago, and it has been a disaster for current residents. They claim they want to turn this into a "premium" community, but in reality, they are just using upgrades as an excuse to hike market rents while ignoring the people who already live here.

Since the takeover, all fees have doubled, and they are not honoring existing lease agreements. Rent is skyrocketing, pricing out families who have called this place home. It is becoming unreasonably... unaffordable, especially during a cost-of-living crisis where every dollar counts.

To make matters worse, the pool was closed for almost the entire summer—we are just now in August—so we paid for amenities we couldn't even use.

It feels like American Landmark is banking on forcing out long-term tenants to make way for higher-paying strangers. But with these outrageous costs, they will be the next complex to sit empty. No one new will move in at these prices, and current residents will have no choice but to flee to cheaper nearby units.

I’ve lived at Preserve at Mill Creek for the past four years and couldn’t be happier with my decision to make this my home.
