Pointe Grand Dawsonville

If you’re considering moving here, don’t. I cannot recommend this apartment complex to anyone based on my experience.

Since the day I moved in, I have dealt with cigarette smoke coming into my apartment from another unit. I reported it over and over, only to be told that no one else could smell it, leaving me feeling like my concerns were being dismissed instead of investigated. Eventually, I stopped reporting it because it was obvious no one intended to do anything about it.

Then the German... cockroaches started showing up. Pest control came out and treated the building, but I was told they were unable to access the unit believed to be causing the problem. I continued submitting maintenance requests and reporting the issue for months with little to no action. Instead of management resolving the problem, I ended up spending my own money on pest control products just to make my apartment livable.

Now I’ve learned that there is a resident in my building who has been smoking inside their apartment, which explains the smoke I’ve been dealing with all along. I’ve also been informed that the same unit has a German cockroach infestation that has still not been properly addressed. If that’s true, it is unacceptable that other tenants are expected to continue living with the consequences while management fails to resolve the source of the problem.

The most frustrating part is the complete lack of communication and accountability. I’ve sent emails, called multiple times, submitted maintenance requests, and have been ignored. At this point, I expect someone from corporate to contact me immediately with a clear plan of action and a realistic timeline for resolving the smoke smell in my apartment and the German cockroach issue. Silence is not an acceptable response.

No tenant should have to live with smoke entering their home, German cockroaches, and months of unanswered complaints. Until management starts taking residents’ concerns seriously and holds everyone in the community accountable to the terms of their lease, I would strongly advise anyone looking for an apartment to look elsewhere. Not that this will make a difference... because if you live here you likely can't afford anything else in the area.

for the following reasons:

*JUNE 15 (Father's Day) no propane.. not even an empty one... Almost ruined my bbq. Had my son go and look before I got home (because of low expectations that it would be trouble free.) THEN due to that excellent intuition I had to buy my own tank just to use an amenity everyone here SHOULD be able to CONFIDENTLY expect to be in a useable state....

*JUNE 24 tried taking my kids to the pool. Pool was locked "for cleaning" no notification given.

* JUNE 25 received an email saying "thanks for our patience on the "deep cleaning" (it's a real hard air quote on the "deepness" of the cleaning) BECAUSE the skimmer baskets were jammed up with bugs and debris. (Wish I took the picture)

**I suppose though. That based on the convo I had today, JULY 9 , with the guy who proudly informed me "that HE is the only one who "knows" what to do with the chemicals.. ? maybe.. seems sus though.

*JULY 6th received an email that the pool will be closed July 7-9.. {not too surprising based on the cloudiness of the water and fullness of the skimmer baskets. IMMEDIATELY after the "deep cleaning" mentioned above. But okay. Just after the fourth. Makes some amount of sense.

Now that you're all caught up and at the present, TODAY, Thursday July 10.. I am currently sitting on the curb NOT AT THE POOL. So my kids can have some water time and try to calm down after NOT being able to use something we were supposed to be able to use.

*JULY 10 almost 15 hours after the pool was supposed to open it's not. I am managing the emotions of two five-year-olds who have been excited expecting to swim. NO EMAIL saying anything changed.

I’ve really enjoyed my experience living at Pointe Grand At Dawsonville Apartments! The location is super convenient – being close to Mellow Mushroom and other local spots is a definite plus. One thing that’s stood out to me is the included internet – it’s fast, reliable, and perfect for working from home without any issues. The maintenance staff is incredibly polite and friendly; they’re always quick to respond to requests. The front office and leasing team are equally great – they genuinely... care about the residents and consistently follow up to make sure tasks are completed and promises are kept. I just moved in, and the leasing staff has been incredibly welcoming and truly professional. They guided me through the process and answered all my questions with patience. It's been a great experience so far!

This is a lovely community! I’ve enjoyed living here and it has been a generally positive experience. These are high quality apartments and the rent is a great deal compared to similar apartments in the area. My favorite thing about Pointe Grand is that the floor plan of the unit definitely feels more like a home layout than what you typically see with apartments. The units are also SO spacious. My only con would be that office responsiveness over the phone/email could be a bit more timely, but... I’ve had a good experience with the staff every time I’ve gone to the physical office.
