Misleading leasing Office
Review of My Experience at Springs at McDonough
My recent experience with Springs at McDonough has been extremely disappointing due to inconsistent communication, unexplained changes to my account, and a lack of transparency regarding the unit I secured.
I was originally approved for and placed a hold on Unit 1108, located at the front of the building. My holding fee was paid specifically for that unit. Without any prior notice or consent, my assignment was switched to Unit 415, a back-facing... unit located near the pet playground — a location I did not choose and did not authorize.
Over the next few days, I received multiple conflicting explanations from different staff members:
I was told by Tori that the change was due to damages in Unit 1108.
The next day, Christina stated it was actually due to a delayed move-out, meaning the unit could not be turned over in time.
I was then offered Units 614 and 615, both back-facing units that did not match the location or type of unit I paid to secure.
These contradictions made it clear that the situation was not being communicated honestly or consistently.
To make matters worse, once I requested a refund due to the unauthorized switch, I suddenly received new information claiming the original unit was “now available.” This abrupt reversal — only after I asked for my money back — felt like an attempt to shift blame onto me, despite the fact that I was never the party who changed the unit or initiated any of these adjustments.
Because the unit was swapped on my account without my consent, and because I was pressured to make a decision based on unclear and conflicting information, I believe I should have been immediately offered a full refund. Instead, I was met with resistance and excuses.
Overall, the lack of transparency, the conflicting stories, and the mishandling of my reservation have made this process unnecessarily stressful. My experience suggests serious communication issues within the management team, and I cannot recommend Springs at McDonough based on how my situation was handled.
