The Village on Spring Mill

We are moving out of this apartment after only one year. While the apartment itself is attractive, it has been poorly maintained.

When we moved in, it was obvious that the unit had been quickly painted just to cover existing issues. The balcony doors had even been painted over a wasp nest. Most of the appliances are old, with the exception of the refrigerator and electric stove. At move-in, management told us they would replace the dishwasher because it was falling apart, but that never... happened. Instead, they sent a maintenance technician who repaired it as best as possible. We only used it once because of its condition.

The dryer is also very old, and the door is difficult to close. It appears to have been damaged by a previous tenant and was never properly repaired. Despite marketing this as a renovated apartment and charging a premium rent, many of the fixtures and appliances are outdated and poorly maintained.

The water pressure throughout the apartment is very low. In both bathrooms, the toilet tanks contain a yellow residue that continuously flows into the toilet bowls, creating an unpleasant appearance.

The condition of the stairways and common areas is also unacceptable. The stairs are rusted and present a potential safety hazard. The stairwells and hallways are frequently covered with stains and food residue from trash bags collected by the Valet Trash service. As a result, insects are constantly attracted to the area and often make their way into the apartments.

I have contacted pest control several times, but the underlying problem remains because the common areas are not being kept clean. Until the property addresses these maintenance, sanitation, and safety concerns, pest issues are unlikely to be resolved.

Overall, the apartment complex does not provide the quality or level of maintenance that would justify the rent being charged. Based on our experience, I would not recommend moving here. Read More

Front office does not answer phones, or emails. You have to schedule an appointment to talk to anyone. Office is closed otherwise. Maintenance is a joke if they ever show up. When they do it’s unannounced. You submit a work order through an app and hope someone comes out. Never know if/when they will. Communication is terrible all around. Apartments are nice though. Not worth the headache.

I have loved living here at The Village! Landlord and office folks are kind and attentive. Maintenance responds to work orders quickly. Any issues I had were all minor and fixed right away (filter change, light bulbs, faucet tightening). My apartment was a renovated one and super clean when I moved in. Package room is easy to access, never had an issue. Neighbors have all been pleasant and friendly. Stairs are a bit noisy at times but it’s pretty quiet here the majority of the time. You have to... drive to everything from here, but nothing is that far away. Grocery and Door Dash deliveries have been easy and convenient as they can drop them at your doorstep without any communication needed. Parking and garages plentiful. Very disappointed with my stay here! One maintenance guy was phenomenal. Had gone the entire pandemic with my refrigerator not working, and they would not replace it. In addition to loud noise up and down the stairs, I had to move my bedroom to the back. Dog poop everywhere...I can't write everything that I would like to say, but I was very unhappy and frustrated with these apartments. Denise the leasing consultant was AWESOME!

Gas leaked. Gas was turned off for a week. No hot water and they just said sorry for the "inconvenience."
