Learn from my mistakes and avoid renting from this place

This property is poorly managed and will charge you unnecessary fees when moving and moving out. For example, talking directly with management, they will tell you that the redecorating fee you pay when moving in doesn't actually go to redecorating and is used as a security deposit, but you don't get that security deposit back. This is just one example of many shady business tactics this company uses and of course you are forced to pay whatever fee they throw at you or they will take you to... collections. The units are outdated and have a moldy smell. The laundry room is a disaster and smells like standing water mixed with mold.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Devonshire Gardens doesn’t just lack professionalism — they are deceptive and unethical. I gave 30-day notice in September 2024, paid full rent for October, and moved out early. The office told me I had a $0 balance and was “good to go.” Months later, I found out they sent me to collections for $254, with no notice, no call, no email — nothing. When I demanded proof, they had the audacity to alter their ledger to make it look like the charge was valid. One of the fees was later removed, which... proves they knew it was garbage. They ignored every attempt I made to resolve it. Now my credit is damaged for something that should have never happened.

This isn’t just mismanagement — it’s manipulative and predatory behavior. They will change records to cover themselves and stick you with the consequences. Avoid this place at all costs. You’re not safe here — even if you do everything right.

If the convenience to shopping, health care & other needs is important then this is the place for you. Staff is attentive & responds to your needs in a timely manner.

It’s a quiet complex. It feels like a community. Neighbors and staff are friendly. Maintenance is great at what they do. The floor plans are some of the largest in town.
