Management is not communicative and penalizes harshly without warning. Was towed from a spot in the parking lot without any notice as to where my car was sent; had been parking there for a month, and there was no warning or communication that people can't park there. Watch out for this place.

Building changed management several weeks ago and the difference is awesome! Finally, a clean, friendly environment with responsive requests for maintenance with detail in motion. Tremendous location safe and spacious pool area as well.

It doesn’t take long living at 888 lofts to have had a variety of negative experiences. While a downtown location is appealing, what you get in return at high price point is an office staff that has a revolving door and often know very little about what’s going on. Office managers cycle frequently with a line up of motley crew. Mode of operation for First Management ? Do not expect to have to have one of many situations explained , addressed or rectified ie. chronically broken elevator,... parking garage door bolted wide open for weeks and free access to pool and free coffee and lounging by local teens and townie weirdos . amenities that you are paying for . Fleecing on small charges and nuisance of dogs owned by various yupsters in the apartment. Seem to mostly go over the weight restriction listed. Many large dogs that don’t generally interact well with humans in elevators or commons and owners who think it’s ok to let them p!ss in the elevator and poo 2 foot off the access door. Drains have a strong odor sporadically. Insulation between adjacent residential walls is paper as one can hear nearly every word of normal conversation from neighbors. You hear someone’s fights or intimate relations or some jerk playing Socom yelling at the team at 2 am. Residents are mostly college brats who’s mommies rent the space for their entitled antics and stupid yelling in the halls and slamming doors like they are born in a barn. Some of Lawrence’s own working folks who live here seem to have the same rural attitudes about the noise they make and trash they leave all over. Screening applicants seems loose. I jumped through a fiery hoop to rent a room so not sure what gives. The main issue however is access to the apartment is by key fob. Commons are wide open during the day but if you have an emergency, the fire or police department cannot access this building . So don’t have an issue after 4:30 pm. If you have no one else at your side , and no one is in the office , no one can help. Police and fire personnel who I have communicated this concern with acknowledged not being able to access the elevator or individual floors or even the front door and as usual office staff denies clueless. This is a safety concern well beyond the obvious concern of the rfid lock vulnerabilities. It’s an apartment so expectations should be set lower for any apartment here in college town and I am understanding of the cash grab

Apartments weren't finished when they allowed people to move in. The electronic lock system creates HUGE issues for people since they only work about half the time. Staff is decent and friendly. They rent to fraternities so the noise is crazy and they leave garbage in the hallways and stairwells. Further, First Management and their subsidiary, First Construction, are shady at best. I'm actually a little ashamed that the city of Lawrence actually lets them get away with this stuff. One plus... side to the building...location is good...but it's certainly not worth the price!
