Excellent floor plan
Shillito has been a blessing to me. A great 2 bedroom 2 bath floor plan with lots of room and plenty of closet space. Close to Shillito Park with easy access and no complaints.

Terrible management, broken down and dirty apartments

If you are looking to move here, PLEASE take notice of the more recent reviews, and choose SOMEWHERE ELSE to live.
Overview of the bigger issues we faced personally:
-NO AIR CONDITIONING:
Our AC was broken off and on for our entire time here, eventually going out completely. We spent the summer months of May through August "on the list" for a new unit, and with no working AC. I wish I was exaggerating when I say it got up to 88 degrees in our apartment. Consistently. For weeks. Our neighbors... had the same issue. 1 window unit was eventually supplied about a month after our AC went completely out, which helped the bedroom only. Essentially, if you are in a unit that has AC issues, don't expect it to be fixed quickly. Never mind the idea that it being 90 plus degrees outside in summer qualifies the situation for "emergency maintenance". We lived in that apartment unit for over a year and never had fully functioning AC.
-NO AFTER-HOURS MAINTENANCE:
There is only an emergency maintenance email...no phone number anymore. This email goes to the office ladies directly. When they work 9am-5pm, you would be correct to assume that any issues after those hours or on weekends are not handled until whenever they get to them later. Also, we were told specifically by Tracey in the office that our AC issues were not their priority, new move-ins are, and we were still "on the list" for an AC replacement....after being told the same thing the previous summer... that we were "on the list".
- UNDERSTAFFED MAINTENANCE, NOT SPEEDY:
Overall, the maintenance men are wonderful, but there are not enough of them for all the issues that take place at this apartment complex. This has been voiced to us specifically by maintenance themselves.
-POOL NOT OPEN
For both summers we lived here, the pool was not open until mid-July or late June respectively. So, if the pool is important to you, don't count on being able to enjoy it as much as you'd like. As I said, maintenance is understaffed.
It's a pity, because we liked the location and our apartment unit itself. But no AC and no fix in sight led us to move. Our experience here was not great at all, and we absolutely do not recommend this apartment complex to anyone, due to HOW our issues were handled. No apology was ever given for our situation, let alone compensation of any sort. A little sympathy from the office management would have gone a long way for our respect of Shillito Park Apartments.

Our a/c went out yesterday, in the middle of the hottest day of the year. I called our leasing office and within minutes maintenance was there to fix the problem. Maintenance worked way past their normal schedule to make sure everything was working properly before leaving. Thank you for taking care of us.

Let me start off by saying that i'd rather be homeless than live here again. The amount you pay for rent is absurd for the low quality of service, communication, and maintenance. How would you like for your AC to be broken during the hottest months of the year? Mine was broken for 6 MONTHS out of my year lease.. They switched management without informing anybody of the change that occurred. Getting out of the lease is a hassle for no reason, they refused to sign my notice of termination so going... through corporate was the only sense of security i had to know that i wasnt going to be trapped into a automatic lease. Also good luck being able to park close to your building walking a good bit is normal. Dont let the amenities fool you, THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT. I hope you can feel the passion through the screen as you read this. Dont make the mistake i did, live literally ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Zero stars should honestly be a option i would give it less than that.
