The Belltower

The Belltower Apartments have a modern and stylish appearance, which can be appealing during a tour. However, once you move in, several issues quickly become apparent. These issues have impacted my quality of life here. To start, while the units may look upgraded, but many of the materials used are low quality. Also, sound insulation is poor. You’ll hear everything from neighbors above and beside you. The noise is a major and recurring issue. Despite designated quiet hours, they are rarely... respected. One specific apartment in the complex regularly throws loud weekday parties on their balcony, often going late into the night. The layout of the complex, which is built in a rectangle layout, only amplifies the noise, so it’s nearly impossible to escape, no matter where your apartment is located. On party nights, it’s safe to assume you won't be getting much sleep. There’s also a community building in the center of the complex, which is nice. However, it's not uncommon for people to be on the balcony yelling or talking loudly on the phone even at 1 a.m., further adding to the noise problem. I feel that there is a lack of community accountability. In addition to this, The Belltower as of May will use a R.U.B.S. water billing system (which means that residents will no longer be charged based on actual usage, but instead they’ll divide up the bill using some vague formula) making things unpredictable and possibly unfair. One reason I liked these apartments over others is because they did not do this. Overall, The Belltower looks nice on the surface, but beneath that are serious problems with noise, cleanliness, and oversight. I will say though that I like the location. It is near a Kroger and my work. So it is convenient, but I am eager to move out. I would also like to say that the staff in the office are friendly and have been great. Read More
