Overpriced- Not Worth It

I've stayed here for about a year and 9 months. At first everything seemed okay, until you have to deal with management. Meghan- to be particular. They are not very accommodating of any situation so if you are looking for a place to stay where you can depend on management to be steadfast in taking care of you and your stay here, you are in for a rude awakening. Not only that, but this complex is very old, do NOT let the fresh paint fool you. The walls are paper thin, you will hear every car on... the street on Essen, along with the conversations of your neighbors next door and above/below you. The windows? Not operable. You can't even lift them up. What if a fire happens in your apartment, your options are limited on how to get out. I've had a terrible water leakage from the ceiling recently that took them nearly 2 weeks to fix, and my entire kitchen was packed with dehumidifiers, making me unable to even utilize my kitchen fully for that period of time. The drainage/plumbing situation here has been a nightmare; the whole entire complex needs to be reconstructed. But somehow, they are making it a point to increase the rent because they recently "repainted the front building". It's quite hilarious actually. I'm glad I've gotten an opportunity to leave and buy my own place, because this place will quite literally make you feel like your money is going down the drain. Remember- if you can rent, you can buy. But even if all you can do is rent at the moment, find somewhere better to stay. They are overpriced for no reason.

Feels like home

Chateaux Dijon Apartments offer something increasingly rare—an actual sense of community. The staff is not only professional & attentive, but genuinely invested in creating a place people are proud to call home.

What was meant to be a short-term stay for my partner, our dog Roux, and me quickly turned into eight wonderful years. It’s the kind of place that quietly wins you over—and then keeps you.

Roux, our senior rescue chihuahua, was… discerning. Friendly was not his brand. From his post at...
the windows of #42, he took it upon himself to monitor all neighborhood activity with great enthusiasm (and volume). And yet, despite his less-than-hospitable greetings, he was met with nothing but warmth, patience, and kindness from both staff and neighbors.

That generosity of spirit speaks volumes about the people here. It’s not just a well-run property—it’s a genuinely welcoming community.

Roux passed away just four days after we moved, and we will always be grateful that his final years were spent in a place where he—and we—felt so at home.

Chateaux Dijon will always hold a special place in our hearts

Zero stars wasn’t available

Bad experience within the first 2weeks of receiving keys. Windows are not sealed properly, you can hear every outside noise, don’t expect to get any sleep. Apartment was not setup properly for internet as described, crucial for work from home employees. Uneven flooring and multiple holes in floor that has yet to be fixed.

Well worth the price!

I have lived in a couple of places here in Baton Rouge and so far Chateaux Dijon is the best. It is an older property so you get the big closet and bedroom that you don't get with the new places. The office staff is great.

The Standard for Great Apartment Living in BR

Based on reviews & personal recommendations Chateaux Dijon was always our first choice for an apartment rental upon moving to Baton Rouge unfortunately they did not have any vacancies at that time so we went with our second choice which was a newly constructed ‘luxury’ apartment complex. Each time our lease renewed we checked Chateaux Dijon for availability and were excited to get in about 6 months ago. I can’t recommend it highly enough!!!! While the apartments are not newly constructed they... are impeccably maintained by staff members who prides themselves on making sure any problem is met with speedy resolution. The management team and maintenance staff are fabulous and seem to take great pride in making it a great place to live! The location makes it quick and easy to get anywhere in the city limits fast and the security gates & night time security patrol have prevented the vehicle break ins that we experienced at our non-gated former apartment complex. Definitely 5 star worthy!
