Unprofessional staff, may be a scam
(0 stars) I applied for a two bedroom apartment at the Saulet, and the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I first toured the property with Cordell Simms a few months before applying, and at the time he was friendly and helpful. The property also seemed well maintained.
Unfortunately, everything changed after I submitted my application and paid the $300 application fee. Communication became almost nonexistent. Emails went unanswered, phone calls weren’t returned, and when I was able... to reach Cordell, he was dismissive and condescending. On multiple occasions, he even raised his voice at me.
After applying, I waited nearly eight weeks for a lease. Then, less than a week before my scheduled move-in, I was asked to pay the security deposit without receiving a lease or any written agreement. I told both Cordell and the leasing manager, Rashida Reed, that I wasn’t comfortable sending money without documentation. Only after I pushed back did they send me a welcome letter, and it was incorrect.
I asked for a corrected welcome letter by the following Monday or I would withdraw my application. They didn’t send it until Tuesday evening, just one week before my move-in date. When I told Cordell I had decided not to move forward, he raised his voice again and became defensive.
Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about renting here. At best, the property is poorly managed. At worst, the leasing process raises some serious red flags
