Union Place

This is the condition that they move you in to. Black mold everywhere. They moved me and my partner in under false pretenses of a “completely renovated” apartment. The dishwasher went within a week. The garbage disposal went within a week. The mirror was scratched on the day of move in. And to make matters worse- the locked HVAC closet (locked at the time of move in - convientlty) was covered from top to bottom in trash and black mold. I began to notice the mold 2 months in as it began to seep... through the walls in the bedroom. Not a care in the world to this place and their maintenance team. They were only concerned of their HVAC - not the fact that they moved us in under false pretenses. My messages for updates on the remediation were ignored and the GM never once reached out. This place is truly disgusting with how they operate. The “maintenance” manager continuously closes requests without completing them. No care in the world for their residents at all. This is how they treat people and their homes. Not only did they do a patch-job work to remediate - I came back to my apartment wall torn up, paint splattered all over the sink. I have never seen nor heard of a property owner so incessant that their paying tenants are miserable. I have had so many bad experiences where they have been comically evil and insatiably greedy it is astounding. If you have even a modicum of interest in living here, I strongly advise against it.
There are many deficiencies of Union Place, namely the parking policy, rule enforcement, construction quality, the ever growing pile of junk next to the trash compactor, poor delivery system and... subsequent theft, being charged undisclosed pet fees on monthly rent despite multiple unannounced visits to check for a nonexistent pet, etc. If this review serves purpose in dissuading one person from living here, I will be glad that I took the time out of my day to write this, but I hope that whomever reads this does not give a single cent to this publicly owned, shareholder incentivized, rapacious company. Having resided at Union Place for only two months, I must express my profound dissatisfaction with the property. The numerous issues I have encountered are overwhelming and difficult to articulate.
If you are seeking an affordable apartment, be prepared to encounter a multitude of problems upon arrival. The property’s shortcomings are substantial and would require an extensive review to fully detail.

I can't stress this enough: You do not want to live here. The management company is awful. They nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING adding hundreds to your rent. Company uses sub par contractors for everything and it shows. Landscaping is such poor quality: bushes are cut down to sticks and trees are all dying. Trash and animal waste all over the property. Parcel Delivery system is almost never working. Packages are left out in the rain and stolen all the time. Management company spent a... fortune renovating the leasing office and gym which was totally unnecessary while apartments are in constant state of disrepair. Constant leaks causing mold and damage to HVAC. Despite my informing management that I have asthma, I had black mold and a non-functioning HVAC system for over 3 weeks. My daughter had to sleep on the couch since her room was full of mold. Leasing office and gym were closed for renovation for 5 months yet tenants continued to pay for amenities they did not have. Please, do yourself a favor and do not waste moving truck rental and time to come to live in this community.
They change management all the time. The emergency line does not have a reason for existing because they simply solve nothing when you call. When I moved in it was a paradise, everyone was very soliciting and helpful. Now we have lack of communication, the hot water is a constant issue, we have residents that arrive at 2am with loud music in their cars and nobody takes action, bringing... disturbance to the residents who wants to have a good night of sleep. We started having our packages stolen and the office does not care at all. They said it was installed cameras to help the surveillance, but it does not see to work. We have pet waste everywhere around the community and again, nobody takes action. When we mention the issue, they ask us, residents, that have to live and take care of our lives every day to take care of the residents. I had a maintenance individual to enter my apartment without notice when I was in underwear. The whole building smell marijuana and people smoke in every corner of the common areas outside the building. We do not have respect and peace living here. Nothing in this place make sense. For last, but not least, we had one of our cars towed even after having sent an email to the office advising about having a rental car temporarily at the spot of the old car (after having a car accident), as we are paying for a spot anyways. After going to the office, they said it was sent a response to us and we never answered. I am still checking my mailbox to try to find that email they "sent". The only thing that works here is the maintenance dpt. The manager in charge of maintenance is very professional and acknowledgeable, friendly, kind.
