The management at Tall Oaks lacks professionalism, empathy, ethics, the list could go on and on. I moved to Maryland not from another state, but from the Caribbean. I say that to say, it was very challenging to encounter lies, and questionable tactics from the very first day of move in. I traveled to Maryland on numerous occasions prior to my final move to set things up for myself and my children. I was told that everything was finalized with my application and provided a move in date and low... and behold when I came to get my keys upon move in, I was told there was something wrong with my application and my mother who was a co-applicant needed additional verification. Can you imagine having to pay the movers extra hundreds of dollars because of something the rental office should have verified from jump? This was the first red flag of many. I was also told I would be moving into one apartment and then at move in told that apartment was no longer available. One of the reasons I chose Tall Oaks was because in order to gain access to the building a key fob must be used...that's in theory at least. Although I stressed the importance of security to management, being a single mom, they moved me into a building where the security locks were ALWAYS broken and it took months before repair only to be broken again. The complex is a rat infested, sub - par, joke of an establishment!
I wonder how much the "tenant" that claims the situation with the frozen pipes was handled well, was paid. Because, that is a bold faced lie! Our life here at Tall Oaks Apt, in our hometown of Laurel, has been a good life. We felt strongly about writing this review because recently the office and maintenance team did a great job pulling out of a rough patch. Many of the apartments were affected by frozen pipes because of a power outage. The teams pulled together - took our tough calls and worked hard to get us back up and running. Our hats off to them for staying kind and professional through it all. Well done!! If I could give them no stars, I would. Move while you can.. from the roaches to poor management, save your family the headache and stress I wish I could have saved mine from.

Walls are super thin, you can literally hear everything going on next door & upstairs! I had mice throughout my kitchen and living room. I’ve literally opened open my front door to leave out and a MOUSE RAN INTO MY APARTMENT!!!!! Rental office never did anything about it. They would send the same exterminator to put down traps that never caught ANYTHING SMH! Complete waste of time and money. DONT AND I REPEAT DONT MOVE THERE !!

This place is not a place I would move into if I would of known then, what I know now. They sell you on the space and the space is very nice but that is about all that there is. My partner and I have been living here for 4 months now and have been unhappy ever since. We have battled roaches, which have invaded our Keurig machine, which is now ruined. We have bought sprays, foggers, you name it because at the time nothing was being done about it. We, on 2 separate occasions have seen a mouse. And... have heard them in the walls and vents. The advertisements say new washer and dryers, that is anything further from the truth. Our washing unit leaks, thank goodness for the oh so convenient tray the catches all the access water that has also dampened our carpet. When I went to the rental office to complain for the 2nd time to the staff, they showed record of some of the "tickets" but not all. Maybe its because of the method of putting the tenants complaints on a piece of notebook paper that things aren't getting done. And if you are looking for a quiet place, do not look here. The walls a PAPER thin. And the neighbors have no respect for after hours noise. We had to call the emergency line at 1AM because our "neighbors" had their TV on full blast. You can and will hear conversations, babies crying, dogs barking, TVs and music playing. Save your time and money, trust me.
