Strathmore House Apartments

I’ve had a great experience living in Strathmore House Apartments.

This Place is complete and utterly Poor in Quality and in Service. Stayed here for a year and it has been a nightmare for a year. The beginning of the rental; they full out refuse to give us a permanent parking pass(Because the tags weren't from Maryland), so there was the hassle of having to go to the Leasing office every month for a temp pass (or get your car towed at your expense). The apartment was Condemned once. There are Pests/Mold growth constantly, and for a second time they towed my... truck (That we Tenant had to Pay for). If you have a family or even live by yourself please reconsider somewhere else to house your family. It's not worth Stress for the Price. Be Safe and God Bless!!!

I have lived in these apartments for 10+ years. This is *NOT* a paid review or anything of the sorts. I have seen the day to day, the night and all in between. I’ve been in a one bedroom up to a three bedroom. So, I’ve seen the layout of the apartments and they’re nice. Especially, for being an older build. Sure, somethings could be updated and I hope someone sees this and puts thought into upgrading the counters/cabinets. Each unit has a washer and dryer, dishwasher and various closets. There... is a pool and an open area with a park and grills. The park can be upgraded as well, it’s older and on the smaller side.
Parking is good. There are some buildings where the parking lot can get fuller quicker however, there is always parking nearby. It’s not like you have to walk 15 miles to your building lol
I have never had issues with the rental office. In fact, I enjoy interacting with them. They’re two women who seem to work hard. Unfortunately, I have heard some confrontations happen. Usually, it’s an irrationally angry tenant taking their frustrations out on the office. I have overheard some really disgusting behavior towards them and it’s sad to see. I guess this is just the world we live in.
Maintenance is fine. My problems always get fixed with no delays.
There was one year that there was a mice infestation. Apparently, behind the complex was a large group of trees that were removed and caused mice to infest the surrounding homes and apartments. It was not a Strathmore apartment issue, it was everyone’s issue in the area. In 2020, I have not had any issues with mice and I live on the bottom level. When I did have issues, I was quickly assisted by the office and exterminators came in consistently. Again, it was one year in the winter that the mice were in the buildings but it’s been about 2-3 years since I’ve laid eyes on a mouse.
Usually you get a feel for a complexes sanitation based on the outside appearance and here it does not disappoint. Trash is maintained well, grounds are cleaned, there are no suspicious activities, no scary experiences in 10 years. There is also a security man at night just to ensure that things are safe for us. It’s a very quiet community. Your neighbors don’t have house parties, theres no sketchy people hanging about. it’s family based. A lot of children play and spend time in the field.
Location here is extremely convenient.
Overall, I 100% recommended this complex to anyone who asks. Especially, if you have children.

Strathmore House Apartment is located in a very busy area of ??Silver Spring, a place where you can come home and feel with peace and quiet, The apartment complex is very clean, safety is at work and neighbors live busy lives coming and going to each other with a welcoming greeting. The management staff takes care of you like family.
