Bloomfield Place

I am very disappointed with my experience at Bloomfield Place Apartments. While the property manager (Cailee) is genuinely kind and helpful, the overall living conditions do not match the price.

The biggest issue is the constant noise at night. Cars regularly drive through blasting loud music late into the night (10 PM-2 AM), and there seems to be little regard to the enforcement of quiet hours by a lot of the residents. As a light sleeper, this made it very difficult to live comfortably.

The... apartments themselves feel outdated and not well-maintained. I experienced a significant ceiling leak in my bathroom, and there are frequent water shut-offs due to ongoing pipe issues, which is extremely inconvenient for daily living. Laundry is also not in-unit or even in the same building, which adds another layer of inconvenience.

There also appears to be a lack of security--I had a package stolen--and overall, the environment feels like it's declining. Staff turnover is high, and aside from the property manager, it doesn't seem like there's consistent support.

Another concern is safety within the complex. Some drivers speed through the property and even go around speed bumps, especially near the front buildings like 1641. During the day it's manageable, but at night or in poor weather, it becomes a real safety concern.

The only real benefit is the availability of short-term leases. Otherwise, for a long-term stay, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

If I could give this place a 0 star I would in a heartbeat ! This is by far the most expensive place I have stayed at and have had the most problems here. From management changing every 2 months, to everything breaking down in the apartment, to someone breaking my car windows (have a basic car), to someone stealing a scat pack. To cigarette smell coming from a different apartment building into your unit( like how is that even possible). Maintenance request being poorly done. I lived in this apartment for 14 months, and let me tell you it was the worst time of our lives. The management is horrible - whenever you ask them for anything(maintenance, cleaning) they’ll just say its not their problem….

When we first got to the apartment, we had spider webs everywhere, disgusting windows, mismatched paint, leaky faucets, broken cupboard, unsealed windows (which lead to every form of insect coming through) and I would just be informed that they can’t fix it…

Even the... common areas were disgusting. If someone dropped a trash, it would stay there for weeks at a time.

I would never recommend anyone living here. Its moreso the management being absolutely useless than anything! They do not want to work and do not want to help. Read More

I toured a 2 bdrm unit; compared to other units I had toured recently in the price range, it was a smaller square footage, lacked in-unit laundry, and the layout was ho-hum, but it was cheaper than most 3rd floor units, the grounds appeared to be adequately maintained and pleasing to the eye, and it was at the top end of my work driving distance & time.

The person I toured with did not know details like pricing, pet policies, available ISPs, etc. Its okay to not know everything off the top of... your head, but at least have a reference on hand or write it down prior to performing tours with prospective tenants.

I was told after getting back to the office that the unit we toured was not available as it was on-hold for another applicant, and that no other units were available at this time, but that I should register online and apply. I went back to my car and the system told me I could not apply to the unit as it was not available. The leasing agent said I had to wait until next monday and then the unit might be available then in their system. I'm from Saginaw and just started working in Southfield a year ago. I search for the best price within a 50 mile radius and found this apartment. I called over 20 apartments inquiring about price and most of them were short with me or unenthusiastic about giving me pricing. Not only did Bloomfield Place apartments give me great pricing they emailed me, and was very detailed.
