The Crossing at Barry Road Apartments

I have been a resident of The crossing for 7 months. When I visited this community I was sold on the amenities. The community having two pools was a huge plus for me . The unit I chose was said to be updated and the complex is in an ideal location.

The pool situation is very disappointing it’s July 1st and neither pool is opened and there is no anticipated opening date. I spoke with a resident of 5 years and they said the pool has never opened on time.

The residents... sign a Marajuana addendum as part of the lease. I have a neighbor that smokes a lot of Marajuana daily. I have brought this issue to management over the last 4 months and there hasn’t been a resolution.

My a/c unit went out in my unit and I requested maintenance 5 times and they were unable to fix it. It took over a month and many visits to the front office to get the unit fixed. If I had to choose an apartment complex over again this wouldn’t be it. Read More

Living in this apartment has been genuine hell on earth. I do not have complaints about the look or aesthetic of the complex. It’s old but rustic, and some apartments have updated appliances. The price is also very cheap, but there is a reason. For the first 6 months of our lease (which was from May to October), we had absolutely no air conditioning. After months of making complaints, going to the front office, and flagging down maintenance workers, I hired a lawyer and called the health... department. Only then did I get any kind of productive response from BH. Once our air conditioner was fixed, it leaked onto our water heater, and then we had no hot water for 4 months. The same process of calling the health department was once again the only method that gained me a response. We are moving out in 2 weeks. Last week, our “brand new” air conditioner just broke again. So just to re-cap, for over half of our lease we had no working air conditioning, and then no hot water, and not once was a pro-rated rent offered. We have been forced to pay this company full price, despite having appliances that do not work. The neighbors are extremely inconsiderate. Trash is thrown in the breezeways, creating a constant stink because the valet garage services are inconsistent at best. Don’t worry though, if you’re looking for a nice place to cool down from all of that, you can always go spend some time at one of The Crossing’s very own pools! Just know that they will be closed for 3 quarters of the summer, and as soon as they open, they will be closed again due to someone creating a scene that requires cleanup. This is a huge apartment complex aging in some ways. Phone jacks are still present in the apartments. Rent will have to be lower to compete with newer apartments in this area. Too many add-ons ontop of the rent. Parking space is lacking, and dogs are free to roam and litter the lawn with owners getting away with impunity. Overall, not a bad place to live, good location, close to schools, shopping, restaurants and medical facilities. I like living here, the staffing remarkable and if any issues, they promptly get back to you. Very convenient to the freeway or Zona Rosa... oh airport too! Like any place things could be better but for the most part, it's a safe place to live and plenty of living space!

Mediocre maintenence staff with zero communication to office makes work orders a nightmare. The leasing staff will dump you off on there boss that NEVER gets back to anyone with issues or updates. This property has gone nowhere but downhill over the last few years
