What They Don’t Tell You Before You Move In

If you are considering moving here, my advice is simple: spend your money somewhere else. And if you do move here, get EVERYTHING in writing — although based on our experience, even that may not be enough.

I can overlook a lot. The bugs? I’ve accepted needing multiple bug-catching devices throughout my apartment. The garage? It is what it is. No apartment complex is perfect, and those things aren’t why I’m writing this review.

What I cannot overlook is management making commitments in writing...
and then refusing to honor them.

When we moved in, one of our biggest concerns was the old, damaged, and frankly disgusting countertops. This was specifically discussed with management, and we received a commitment in writing regarding them.
Now they will not follow through.

If residents specifically address an issue, receive a commitment in writing, and still can’t rely on it, what exactly are we supposed to rely on?

Unfortunately, this is part of a larger pattern of poor communication and disorganization.

We have also been on a waitlist for a specific unit for almost TWO YEARS and were told we would be notified when it became available. That unit is now advertised on the property’s own website as available for $2,250/month.

We immediately reached out, ready and willing to move and pay the advertised rate. Instead, we were told the unit is being kept as a corporate unit because it generates more revenue.

That’s management’s decision, but why advertise it online as available for $2,250 if residents cannot actually lease it? After waiting nearly two years, we found out it was “available” by seeing it online ourselves.

Then there is the utility billing.

Our signed utility addendum states that each bill is based on an estimated or actual reading of our individual unit’s submeter. Historically, our water bills showed beginning and ending meter readings. Since the management change, bills have instead contained gallon “adjustments” without the same meter-reading information.

We have repeatedly asked how these figures are calculated and what data is being used to determine our usage. We still have not received an explanation that resolves those questions.

I’ve included photos and screenshots showing the property conditions, advertised unit availability, and utility billing so prospective residents can see what I’m referring to and make their own decision.

For what this property charges, I expected far better. I strongly recommend spending your $ somewhere else.

Everything was great until Maxus took over …..

Our experience has been extremely disappointing. We renewed our lease based on written promises from the previous management company that upgrades would be completed in our unit. Those promises were made by email, and we still have the documentation. The upgrades were never completed. We also pay a premium for what is advertised as an "upgraded" one-bedroom apartment. The primary feature is an "open den," which appears to be an opening where a wall was removed, leaving an awkward space behind our... dining room table. In our opinion, it does not justify the increased rent.We also have concerns about utility billing. Our lease utility addendum states that bills will be based on estimated or actual submeter readings for the apartment. Under the previous billing system, our statements reflected specific gallon usage amounts. Under the current management, billing has changed, and we have received statements showing adjusted gallon amounts despite meter readings being listed as 0. When we asked questions, we were left with more confusion than answers. We were also placed on a waiting list for a two-bedroom apartment shortly after the current management company took over. We were told a corporate unit would be converted into a rentable apartment and were led to believe we would have an opportunity to rent it. After waiting, we were later informed that the unit would not be available to us.We have retained our lease documents, billing statements, and email communications. Based on our experience, prospective residents should make sure every promise is documented and should carefully review utility billing practices before signing or renewing a lease.

Unprofessional Staff

The staff at this apartment complex are disorganized and completely unprofessional. I had a tour scheduled with them, but when I arrived, I was directed to the lobby and had to wait nearly an hour until I just gave up and went home. How they run a business like that is beyond me.

Clean and Great Location

Allegro at the Boulevard is a great spot for short term living. It is close to the mall and many other shops and restaurants. Some of the second floor apartments are awkwardly located so that you don't have the same level as parking available, however it is still a good apartment
