Great community in Midtown

I have lived here for a year and just resigned for another! During my time I have felt it is very convenient to get all around st louis with access to nearby necessities as well as easy access to St louis two main highways. The staff, which is run by Ismary and Lauryn, is super kind and accommodating. when it came time to resign our lease the duo did their best to not raise prices and maintain my incentives. the community has plenty of SLU students and professionals + local professionals. ... the actual apartment is also very nice (community spaces are also great!). Highly recommend living here if this is in your budget or go to SLU

Great Location and Friendly Staff

I’m really enjoying my stay here so far. The location is a big plus for me, as it’s very close to my workplace and makes commuting extremely convenient. The apartment is comfortable and overall meets my needs. I did have some issues with water infiltration, but the staff and maintenance team were excellent and very responsive in taking care of the repairs. Everyone has been friendly and helpful, and overall I’m very happy with my experience here so far.

Steelcote Lofts is faulty construction leaking from ceiling has been a problem

I have lived here for 5+ years and 3 separate units and Leaving soon finally. The only reason to live here is if you want to be close. Every year at least twice a year the roof will leak it doesn’t matter if you’re on the 2nd or 4th floor. This has led to mold at times. And they will say that they are going to do tuck pointing but this is an issue with the building itself because otherwise it would have been resolved several years ago and it continues to happen every year. Also management will... not refund any fees, but the Maintenace people are the only saving grace but even they cannot fix the core structural issue.

Faulty construction

The windows don't seal properly when closed, so outside noise comes through easily, and the neighborhood is far noisier than expected. The property management is extremely unprofessional, dismissive of residents' concerns, and shows little interest in addressing legitimate issues. Overall, the experience has been frustrating due to their lack of responsiveness and accountability.

BEWARE: No luxury for a luxury price

Disclaimer: this pertains to the older buildings only. (Steelcote crossings and lofts) When I moved here I loved this place, but in the last couple of months it has really gone downhill. In the past two weeks, people’s catalytic converters have been stolen and cars have been broken into. You can pay to park in the gated area or garage, but there are not enough spaces for everyone. The property manager does not respond to emails. If you want amenities, you have to pay extra for them. You can get... both a pool and a gym membership at a lower cost than what you would pay here. The free gym for the older buildings has zero airflow and does NOT get cleaned. The walls are very thin. The one good thing is the people who live here are friendly. Most packages just get delivered outside, but someone will usually place it inside the door if they see it. If you have something major that needs fixed, it is not happening quickly, but if it’s simple handyman work, the maintenance man is super nice and works swiftly. This place is a revolving door of people moving in and moving out. If you are going to spend this much on an apartment, go somewhere else.

The recent outbreak of crime regarding vehicles is a wide-spread problem that is affecting many areas of St. Louis City and County, we... do want to confirm with you that we have garage parking available for all of our residents in Lofts, Crossing and Flats, if you happened to have missed our community emails, please contact the leasing office at 314-924-6045, or by email at Steelcote@2BResidential.com, several team members monitor this email daily and will contact you within 24 hours. Our team has been reaching out on a regular basis to all of the delivery companies and pleading with them to not leave packages outside the main door, we will post a special message tomorrow on the main door giving additional contact #'s and instructions to delivery drivers. We are very sorry that this process is not always followed by the various delivery companies, and we understand your frustrations.
