Looks good on pictures, not so much in reality - INSPECT EVERYTHING
Can’t recommend this property. If you have other options, consider them. Document everything at move-in, and inspect the carpet carefully — hidden preexisting damage may still be charged to you later.
Positives:
Decent location
Nice surroundings
Cabana, gym, and pool
The actual apartment experience was disappointing. The best description is “lipstick on a pig” — it looks good in photos, but it’s far from luxury living.
The buildings are old, with failing systems, drafty windows, high winter... utility bills, occasional mold, and recurring pest issues. Maintenance tries to help, but many problems are tied to aging infrastructure and never fully resolved.
Our apartment was handed over with obvious issues: gaps around the kitchen sink, a loose toilet, mold and grime, and water-damaged cabinets. We also discovered pests from cabinets left dirty by previous tenants. If you don’t document every issue at move-in, you may end up responsible for it later.
At move-out, we spent a full day cleaning and left the apartment in much better condition than we received it. During the walkthrough, management focused heavily on carpet stains found with a blacklight. Although I acknowledged reasonable wear we may have caused, the company replaced carpet throughout the apartment and charged us for all of it. Some of the “damage” was even in storage rooms that stayed closed the entire time. When I raised concerns that issues may have been missed during move-in inspection, management dismissed them outright. Escalating the issue went nowhere.
Bottom line: document everything, inspect carefully, and don’t assume management will give you the benefit of the doubt.
