Broken AC, bad management
Our air conditioning stopped working on Thursday during August, and our apartment remained over 80 degrees for several days. What made the situation particularly frustrating was the communication throughout the process.
The issue was reported Thursday, and we were initially told that maintenance would be out Saturday. We were then told Monday, and ultimately the repair was not completed until Tuesday—five days after the AC stopped working. Had we been given an accurate timeline from the... beginning, we could have made arrangements to stay somewhere else rather than spending several days in an apartment above 80 degrees while repeatedly expecting the AC to be fixed.
Management has acknowledged that the communication could have been handled better, which I appreciate. However, they declined our request for any rent credit or compensation despite the conditions in the apartment and the changing repair timeline.
The AC has since been repaired, but the overall experience was disappointing. Better communication and some acknowledgment of the significant inconvenience beyond a generic apology would have gone a long way.
Update: the AC has broken twice more since this and the communication with management has not been much better. I have currently sent multiple emails I have not heard back from. I am writing this review from my apartment that is currently 84 degrees. Don’t move here.
