Major Bug Issues

Be prepared to deal with serious bug and maintenance issues.

I dealt with persistent silverfish throughout my unit for almost a full year despite endless extermination treatments. At the same time there were numerous other maintenance issues including major drafts ($350+ regular electric bills and freezing cold) from poorly sealed doors and windows, inches of construction dust on ledges and behind appliances that made me physically sick, leaks under the sink, broken cabinets, cracked and...
unfinished shower tile, large unsealed openings around pipes, persistent foul hallway odors, and strong odors from neighboring units leaking into my unit daily that smelled awful.

Because they leased me a unit that had so many issues- I was then forced to dedicate the next 9 months of my life to allowing their maintenance staff, exterminators, and other third party vendors into my apartment almost weekly as they attempted to fix the issues. This in addition to having to take the time to do all the correspondence with their office reporting the matters.

Despite 5 exterminations, revolving door of workers in and out, my own efforts, and endless back and fourth- giant silverfish bugs persisted inside my unit- in addition to the foul hallway smells and odors leaking into my apartment despite sealing everything.

At that point management said “there was nothing more they could do” and suggested that I transfer units.

They assured me the new unit that was in a different building had no prior pest issues and that all maintenance items would be addressed before my move. I bit the bullet and transferred despite the move itself being a ton of additional work.

Within a week in the new place, multiple giant silverfish popped up on my walls again in the new unit.

I literally cried as they are very startling especially when in your bedroom. Or popping up on your ceiling when you open your eyes in morning.

Despite the terrible 10 months I dealt with prior and even an entire move- the new place was not sufficiently sealed for bugs. It was shocking.

Living with the bugs, constant maintenance people and vendors inside my living space, and repeated back-and-forth with management significantly affected my quality of life. Overall the experience has been very bad.

5 stars

I’ve called Park Lane home for a while now, and it’s truly one of the best apartment communities I’ve ever experienced. The property is beautiful and well-maintained. What really sets this place apart is the staff. They go above and beyond to make sure residents feel valued. The management team is friendly, professional, and always willing to help.

Park Lane Not Recommended

We had a very disappointing experience living here for a year. The building is extremely noisy, with frequent late-night car alarms, and the construction quality feels cheap. Management communication was excessive and often unhelpful, filled with constant rule-reminder emails instead of real solutions. Our security deposit was delayed despite the unit being left in excellent condition. Parking is limited, and the rent is far too high for the quality of life provided. Overall, this community did... not meet expectations and caused more frustration than comfort.

Terrible

My experience was terrible. The soundproofing was incredibly poor, and the area was extremely dusty due to construction. Nighttime racing in the garage was constantly making it difficult to sleep. Ventilation was so bad that even flies that flew in from the street were dying by the morning. When we received a lease extension (we had three months left to live there), we cancelled because we had found another great option. And then the problems started... The staff would enter the apartment... without warning and open the door with their own keys, which is absolutely unacceptable. Ultimately, they didn't return the security deposit, citing the apartment's condition, which is a complete lie, as cleaning services were hired and the walls were even touched up before we moved out. There's video evidence that the apartment was handed over in perfect condition (the form didn't list any damage or defects). We had to go to court. So if you don't want unnecessary headaches and problems, avoid this place.

Hi Svetlana,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sincerely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. Our team strives to provide a comfortable and well-maintained living environment, and we take all concerns seriously....

Regarding your comments: We understand construction in the surrounding area has been inconvenient at times, and we have continued working with contractors to minimize disruption where possible. Sound concerns and air circulation issues are always addressed promptly when reported, and we encourage residents to notify us so we can investigate and take action. We have strict protocols regarding entry into apartment homes and only enter with proper notice or in an emergency, in accordance with state and lease requirements.

With respect to your move-out, our team followed the standard inspection process and documented the condition of the apartment as required by our lease agreement. We understand you disputed those findings, and we cooperated fully with that process.

We truly regret that your experience was not positive and appreciate your time in the community. If you would like to discuss your concerns further or if there is anything unresolved that we can assist with, please feel free to reach out to our office directly.

Thank you,
Katie Malatesta
