Disappointing Experience - Cannot Recommend
Lived here for less than one month and already have water damage and issues in my apartment. One week in I noticed signs of a major water leak issue. The snow melt was getting into the wall and bedroom of the apartment saturating the carpet and showing water staining on the ceiling and wall. When I moved in, they made me aware of relatively small water stains on the wall near the floor however I had no idea that this has very likely been a recurring issue and that many other units in this... complex have similar issues. Another snowstorm down and new water stains coming through telling me there must be water in the wall and structure. The bedroom is unusable leaving me with limited space and uneasy move in. The management’s response has been unsatisfactory in my opinion. I thought this is a large complex and that the leasing management staff and the Harbor Management Group would be able to provide alternatives however they argued they could give any deduction from my rent even though this has been a huge inconvenience. Moving to another unit was a possibility but with a new security deposit, application fee, and an increase in rent due to the unit options being upgraded, not to mention moving fees I would likely have to cover. Both these responses were unsatisfactory to me. I understand the weather is a factor here, however poor previous maintenance of the building is as well, and I thought that they would be able to make this right but were outright unwilling to. Patching over the dry wall and replacing carpet is just not enough. Contacted the local Deputy Building Inspector and keeping them updated on this situation.
