Portland Towers Apartments

Overall, Portland Towers was a good place to live, especially for the price. If you’re looking for an affordable apartment in a great location and understand that you’re getting some of the basics rather than luxury amenities, it’s a solid option.

The location is one of the biggest perks. Being so close to Providence Park is awesome, and the building is very walkable to most of Portland. Grocery stores, restaurants, public transit (MAX), and other necessities are all within walking distance.... There can definitely be some outside noise, but that’s to be expected given the central location and the surrounding area.

The rooftop is a huge highlight, especially during the summer. There’s lots of furniture available to hang out, with additional seating available year-round, plus two wood-pellet Traeger grills that residents can use. It’s a really nice amenity for an apartment building.

The basement gym is more than enough to get the job done without leaving the building. It has a few machines, dumbbells, and treadmills, so you can cover the basics.

There are some downsides. The lack of air conditioning and in-unit laundry can be inconvenient, particularly during the warmer months or when you’re doing laundry frequently. That said, the apartment is priced accordingly, so you really do get what you pay for.

The maintenance team deserves 5/5. They were consistently responsive, helpful, and friendly. Ron in particular was incredibly helpful during our move-out process and went above and beyond to help us with several steps along the way. The maintenance staff also seem to genuinely get to know the tenants, which makes the building feel more personable.

The other residents were generally fine as well. I never had any major complaints, and it’s actually notable how many people in the building have lived there for 10+ years. I think that says a lot about the overall experience.

I’m moving out because of a cross-country move, not because of any major issue with the building. For someone looking for a reasonably priced apartment in a very convenient Portland location, Portland Towers is definitely worth considering. Read More

I lived at Portland Towers for 10 years and it was a lovely experience. The location can't be beaten! Walking distance to NW 23rd, Washington Square Park, easy access to Hwy26 and so much more! If you're looking for a friendly neighborhood vibe with all the conveniences of city living this checks both those boxes. Fred Meyer, a Max station, a dozen restaurants, and banks all within a 5 minute walk.
Safe, relatively quiet area yet you are right next to downtown.
Friendly staff and neighbors.
Thick walls. Haven't heard a neighbor once.
Good internet. I'm getting 100 mbps down.
Incredible view from the roof, and there is even a grill.
Flat utility bills.

-Has some old building problems. Plumbing has been needing repairs and has been shut off multiple times. The shower controls are really finicky.... Dishwasher doesn't work very well.
-Parking for guests can be very difficult if not nearly impossible if you don't have a temporary pass available, which you can't get while the office is closed. Read More

With a Walkscore of 94, I assure you, the Portland Towers is a great place to live. Did I mention the view? The view of the Cascades, Mt. Hood, and the city at night is breathtaking. The spacious two bed, two bath I share with my lovely roommates could not be more fitting; the layout is perfect and the walls are thick, so you don't have to worry about hearing your neighbors.
