Bad Bussiness practices
My lease is ending in mid-april. In January, they called me to ask for lease-renewal but I was out of the USA. So, I told them that I am not planning to renew the lease and I will be back in the States in Februrary last week. They infromed me about signing the move-out form and I asked them to email that to me but they told me that it needs to be signed in-person and I won't be back till late Feb. They told me they would make a note of it and then I can drop by at the leasing office and they... will sort it out. Fast forward to March 9, I went to the office and told them about my intention to move out and they told me that I need to give them at least 60 days of notice according to lease agreement and I will have to pay 1.5x rent from the date my lease end to the date I can move out on May 9. Their excuse was that they could send out the move-out form on email while someone on the call clearly told me that's not possible. They clearly knew it was their mistake but didn't want to stand up to it. Will not recommend to anyone ever.
