Brownsville Sun Colony Apartments

I do not recommend this place at all; living here is absolutely terrible. They never fix any reaper inside my apartment it’s been 8months and still waiting to be fix, To make matters worse, there is a cockroach infestation; they claim to fumigate, but I suspect they’re just using water because the roaches never go away. As for the parking lot—aside from the fact that there aren't enough spaces they only have the ones you have to paid, there are swarms of black ants everywhere that crawl right... into your car. The entire lot is riddled with potholes; your car ends up looking like a clunker because you swerve to avoid one hole only to fall right into another! Furthermore, their advertising is misleading: they don't even open the swimming pool, the machines in the gym don't work, and in the laundry room, many of the washers and dryers are usually broken—and they take forever to repair them. Sun Colony used to claim they wouldn't allow aggressive dogs, but now they let people keep them, even if the animals lunge right at you. Don't rent in those apartments. They have terrible management, they don't fix things that break, and it takes months to get anything fixed. They charge you for garbage collection, there's not enough parking, and you have to pay for private parking. The pool isn't open, and they say it will be open in the summer, but they don't open it. Living here has been a huge disappointment. When we moved in, we were promised laundry facilities and a gym — but neither exists, and there’s been no sign of them ever being added. Nothing has been fixed or improved since we arrived. There is also a serious roach problem that management has done nothing about. The office is unresponsive — they don’t return calls or messages, and they clearly don’t care about the residents’ needs. This place is full of broken promises and poor management. Very nice apartments. Jessica Leasing Agent is great very helpful answered all my questions. Overall its a great place.

After a year of living here, the experience has been great. Management is great, pool is always available, neighbors are friendly & they’re working on the fitness center already, which is a great add on. The only thing I can say is I wish more washer and dryers worked, but aside from that, the community is great and location is amazing.
