Unclean and Unsanitary
Upon move-in, we were stunned to find the apartment in an unclean and unsanitary state. It took me over two hours to reach anyone in the office to report the issue, and in that time, I hired a cleaner to do what should have been done before the apartment was handed over to new tenants. The manager applied a $100 credit to my account to compensate for the cleaning (that didn't cover my expenses in having it cleaned). Upon move-out six months later, we left the apartment in immaculate condition;... however, we were charged for carpet treatments for stains that didn't exist and for high traffic areas that didn't exist. The carpet was installed just before our move-in, yet they insisted there were high traffic areas in just that short time. Knowing there were neither stains nor high traffic areas, I requested evidence of the damage. Although they were unable to provide such evidence, they retained the charges from our deposit.
