Sheffield Court

Have been here exactly one week and have already had the back of my car destroyed in the parking lot. Saw other reviews that mentioned this and in each of them they say nothing is done to help the owner. Sadly this is true. No cameras, no help offered, even after this is clearly a common occurrence. Good to know the community doesn’t mind their members destroying one another’s property. Glad I only signed a short term lease

I've lived here for 10 months and it has been a near continuous maintenance nightmare. The Sheffield Court standard response seems to be to cover up issues rather than fix them. As a result, I've had to deal with persistent mold, water damage to multiple walls and carpeted areas, and a plumbing system that filled my toilet with someone else's waste and my shower with...let's call it "dirty water" and what I hope was just debris. They refused to accommodate me when I asked to be moved to a... different unit due to the persistent maintenance issues (and health issues if we want to address the mold) and actually wanted to charge me a ridiculous fee if I wanted to move, despite the fact that my current apartment is riddled with past and current issues. I get that maintenance issues happen in older buildings, but the response from Sheffield Court was unacceptable to say the least. This is not meant to criticize a single employee as they have been generally pleasant, but you are rolling the dice if you decide to live here and they are not likely to go out of their way to help you. Attempted to book a virtual tour and building manager was 30 minutes late and attempted to up sell me to a significantly high price than asked for. Manager further avoided question regarding price of parking and utilities.

I have lived in six different apartment complexes in Arlington across the past 13 and this was the worst. Read your lease VERY carefully - they put the move-out date four to six days past one year. This way they charge you the higher rent for those last four to six days. They do not tell you, have look for it.
The move-out fees are beyond ridiculous. First they told me I had not contacted them in writing and they tried to charge me for that (when I had an email stating I was moving out in... the proper time). Then, they told me I could bring in a cleaning service or they would charge me for cleaning - interesting considering there was still a cable box and not-vacuumed carpet when I moved it. They will also find something wrong and charge you for it. With me it was blinds.
The maintenance staff once came to fix my shower and left my bathroom a mess as well as dirt on the floor and mud in the tub.
Also, be careful in the parking lot - my car was hit and scratched more than once. The spaces are very tight. And there are not enough.
I understand, it is fairly inexpensive for an apartment with washer/dryer not far from the metro. That is why I moved there, but I would just advise anyone considering it to be careful.

Just moved in, but everything has been great. The people are nice, the apartment office is very attentive. Washer did not work upon move-in, had another within 5 business day. Fantastic.
