Potomac Vista Apartments

I want to share my experience so others know what they might be dealing with at Potomac Vista Apartments in Woodbridge.

From the start, communication with the office was extremely difficult. Armaani at the front desk was repeatedly rude in my interactions, and the manager, Kristy, treated me even worse. Any time I tried to ask questions or get help, I felt ignored and disrespected.

I sent my 60-day notice to vacate on time, and I even went... in person to confirm my check-out date. They told me everything was fine. But later, they started sending statements saying I had to pay two more months. It honestly feels like they are trying to take money from me for no clear reason. When I tried calling to sort it out, they stopped answering and even blocked my number. I also reached out to Gates Hudson, but no one responded.

This whole situation has caused me a lot of stress and emotional suffering for months. I am exhausted from trying to resolve something that should have been simple.

In my personal experience, this has been one of the worst apartment communities in Virginia. The unprofessional communication and lack of support have made this process extremely painful. Read More

AVOID!!!! Living at this complex was terrible. Murders and robbings within a mile radius on a daily basis. Do not go out past 8. Management never responded to emails/complaints. Don’t worry about paying for pet privileges as complex doesn't enforce. Everything is extremely run down. My sink leaked water underneath it, the a/c made a loud rattling sound all day, the walls are paper thin, the windows give zero insulation and your energy bills will be enormous. I witnessed the maintenance crew... leave carpet padding outside in the rain all weekend and then install it on Monday. When maintenance replaces carpet, a/c units, fridges, washers, etc, they will leave the old in the front lawns for WEEKS! There was a large amount of broken glass in the parking lots for over two months before a group of residents got together and swept the lot. Now that I’m moved out, the complex is trying to charge me for all the stuff that was already broken. Before I get into why you should stay away from the corn apartments, please note that I think this apartment complex is overall good. I have been living here, in a corner apartment, since 2018 and one negative constant that I run into every year is the HVAC system. In the summer the HVAC doesn't keep my place cool, and in the winter the HVAC doesn't keep my place warm. Now, the HVAC does work in that when I want cool air or warm air it provides it, but my apartment is regulated more by the... outside temperature than the HVAC. If it is hot and humid outside it will be about 78 to 80 degrees in my apartment regardless of what I set the HVAC too. The same is true in the winter; if it's cold and fridged outside my apartment will be in the mid to high 60's.
I have talked to several management personnel and maintenance workers about this. They all tell me the same thing, it's the way the corner apartments are built; they don't hold regulated temperature as well as the middle apartments. I lived in this placed for the past 4 years. The place is quit and beautiful. The rooms are very small, one queen bed will occupy 70% of the room. But the worst thing of all is the new management. They won't help you with anything. I had a useless talk with them regarding my lease. They were rude to me and did not want to collaborate with me at all. That is not how you treat your residents!

whole place filled with liars... they will take your money then say they didnt recieve it until late and you have no proof otherwise so you are stuck paying fees you shouldnt have
