Hearthstone at Merrill Creek

I would not recommend living here. I’m currently living in a first floor apartment and the noise coming from the apartment above me is so loud I can’t even stand it. While I expect some noise from living on a lower floor, this is not normal. It’s literally nonstop, all day, sounds like they purposely stomp in heavy shoes, lots of jumping, you can hear the creaking of the wood and there are times it sounds as though they are going to come through the ceiling. Complaints have not reduced it, in... fact I think they’ve gotten louder. While the office seems to care outwardly, it’s not helping whatsoever, I think it’s just angered my neighbors that I’ve reported them so I’m getting retribution as they know nothing will come of my complaints.
The sauna doesn’t work, the recycle area frequently overflows (due to tenants not breaking down boxes)

While living here for 3 years:
The gate never worked. It's an unsecure property. The package lockers were removed, packages stolen, and damaged property. Property rules and hours are not enforced, and any complaints are ignored. The only decent thing was maintenance response time, although the work was awful. They hire negligent contractors, and more than one of my neighbor's opened court cases. Half of our outlets did not work. They installed new electronic locks on the doors, which are easily... opened by strangers, and do not maintain them. Parking is extremely limited and it's extremely difficult to tow someone in your spot. Contractors repeatedly block spots. Staff is rarely available, difficult to reach, and rude when you do get to them. Crystal was great while she was there. The office is closed most times.
After moving out:
We have 2 open BBB complaints against this property and UDR. We have not been able to pay our final bill, due to the billing department, despite efforts to cooperate and work with the property. They have 6 unanswered recent complaints.

I've lived at these apartments for nearly two years. The up side is the maintenance crew is the best I've ever seen. They are part of the reason I renewed a second year. They are fast and professional. On the down side is parking, or lack of it. We were told there was plenty when we moved in. Also, there is no security, you are on your own when the office is closed. Their solution is to tell you to call the police, which if they show up, just say they can't do anything and to tell the manager.
