John Winthrop Apartments

I would give 5 stars but for one thing(which is easy to overlook considering how great everything/everyone has been since moving in May 2022. The management is top notch. Super friendly and easy going. Each member of the staff has made me feel extremely comfortable and right at home. Which one should feel when at home, right? The property manager, Ethan is the best. He does his job yet keeps things friendly and personable and has a sense of humor that's right on my level. Which, mind you, is... NEVER sarcastic, (I'm being sarcastic.)The thing that knocked it to 4 5 rather than 5 stars is the fact that maintenance has, per THEIR request, booked times on 3 separate occasions to come paint part of my wall that they had to remove the day after I moved in because of some snafu in the apartment above mine. I work nights, therefore I sleep during the day, making it difficult at first to schedule a time. Since then, THREE times maintenance has said they'd be there to paint and didn't show or call or email. It's only kind of annoying because every time he's supposedly coming, I have to move my furniture off the wall so he can paint. I've moved it three times and nada. This community is undergoing a great renovation on the entire building, all while keeping the original charm. A great management and maintenance team make this place a must see when looking for a new home downtown!

They have good staff and they’ve address the problems and concerns I have had right away. They communicate and are always upfront when I have any questions on issues. I would highly recommend them to potential renters.

CONSTANT issues with communication with management, maintenance gives no warning and is completely unreliable, does not follow safety protocols (no mask, no personal sanitization) Going through HUGE renovations in the building for which we have gotten little to no notice, appliances busted, building fire alarm has gone off 5 times since I have lived here, building has been broken into multiple times, just bad bad experience.
