This review is not about the staff or the apartment complex itself but the property management company that oversees it. I have never written a negative review of any company until now, but my experience compels me to share this.

Upon receiving my move-out report, I was shocked to see a $50 charge for a trash can we allegedly "stole." It took two weeks for the company to locate the trash can and remove the charge from the invoice. Next, I was billed $310 to repaint the entire apartment, despite...
only two out of seven photos showing areas that needed touch-up painting. Charging for a full repaint feels excessive and unjustified.

Additionally, the carpet cleaning quote, dated two weeks before we even moved out, stated that cleaning was "not recommended" and recommended a complete carpet replacement. Why would a carpet cleaning company refuse to clean an entire apartment? When I finally reached someone to discuss these charges, the conversation was unhelpful. The report highlighted supposed "discoloration" under my dresser and nightstand—areas where carpet is unlikely to get dirty or stained. When I questioned this, the representative backtracked, claiming they could see "where we were walking." Isn’t that normal wear and tear?

After speaking with three different people from the management company, I was finally connected to a manager. About an hour into our conversation, I asked if there was any point in discussing the charges, as it seemed their opinion was final regardless of my input. Her response was a blunt "yeah." This experience has been my first time feeling truly taken advantage of by an apartment management company. I understand paying for specific sections of carpet that exceed normal wear and tear, but being charged for what feels like a complete apartment renovation is outrageous. I feel helpless, facing a $1,000 bill right after moving out.

nice looking but cheaply made!

Don’t judge this apartment complex by it looks because it is very cheaply made. I can hear everything my upstairs neigbors are doing and it is ridiculous. I know every time they go restroom and I wish I didn’t because the price we are paying for this apartment is definitely not worth it. Save your money and rent somewhere else.

Absolutely the worst place I have ever lived.

My experience was that management is highly concerned with nickel-and-diming it’s residents, and NEVER with making their own shortcomings “right”. The rating and existing reviews say a lot.

Parking – it is a massive issue for all residents! My mother’s car was towed because she arrived from out of town late one night to visit. Because it was after hours, there was no way to secure a guest pass until the next day… Which I did after spending 4hrs to drive to the impound in TEMPE and paying $200....
Keep in mind, I was the LONE ADULT RESIDENT in a 3 bedroom apartment. This was one of many issues/confrontations I personally experience regarding parking, and I witnessed a plethora of others going through the same struggles.

False promises/missed deadlines – Unapologetic and chronically failing to deliver. I moved in May of 2021 and was told the pool would be available in June. PERFECT! I was looking forward to a summer of splashes with my 2 year old. Month after month after month went by until the pool finally opened…. IN NOVEMBER. Compensation or at the very least, APOLOGIES were undoubtedly in order, but nowhere to be found. This was a pattern with other facilities, signage, security, etc. Naturally, blame was placed on “Covid”. Accountability is a tough one….

Shame fees – Pay your rent by the 2nd, OR ELSE. Not only will you be slammed with fee after fee for paying a day late (which is still BEFORE most properties require payment), but you will potentially be locked out of the online portal for months as a punishment. This requires you to procure a cashier’s check every month, which for me, led to having to leave my son’s 3rd birthday party early to rush to a bank and drive across town to pay. Arriving 5 minutes late due to traffic resulted in, you guessed it, a stack of fees! They sure love their money (and not their residents)!

Incessant nagging about mundane rules – Nothing on your balcony, no lights, no door mats, no pool at 10:02, no décor, no backing in (parking), no smiling, no laughter, etc… You get the idea. OBEY OR ELSE!

I was INCREDIBLY happy to have escaped from The Crossing, and am living happier than ever at an awesome place in Scottsdale that actually enjoys their residents!

I can already envision the response, layered THICK with false concern. Don’t buy into it, just don’t. You will think back to this review if you decide to move here!

Parking/Towing

Big Problem! No Guest Parking and tenants are only notified about the rules in their initial leasing agreement. No warning signage about the parking. Your car will be towed by their company they have hired to police the parking lots and you will be charged an exorbitant amount to get your car back. My teenage daughter paid $250 to get her truck back, wiping out her hard earned savings, just to get to work. How many minimum wage workers have $250 to spend like this? They are taking advantage... of a lot of people and seems like they are possibly getting kickbacks from the towing company, ZIP TOW. Spoke with a manager from the complex and they are more than aware of what is happening and they purposely continue not to post any signage to warn guests or tenants. Continuing to feed business to ZIP TOW.

We are sorry to hear that your daughter had a bad experience with our parking policies. Our residents are a priority and we want to ensure that parking is available for residents. Per the lease, we do allow guest parking passes on request and... availability. Towing signs are posted on carports and on the entrance gates around the community. If you have any other questions please reach out to our Leasing office.

Cheap Good Looking Apartments

Yes, these apartments look nice. But they are put together so cheaply. I can hear upstairs neighbors when they are just having a normal conversation. I can hear them open their bedroom door, patio door, everything. Parking is terrible. You must pay for more than one car, so if you have a three bedroom good luck. The office only pretends to care of things you complain about however has time to give violations for having a door mat with “welcome” on it. I’ve lived in 10+ apartments over my life... and this by far is the worst one. Look elsewhere!!
