Water leak and mold issue
I’ve had a very frustrating experience dealing with management about a serious maintenance issue in my unit.
Water appears to be getting in through the exterior siding and causing mold inside the wall. The area has been cleaned multiple times with recommended solutions, but the mold keeps coming back because the source of the water intrusion hasn’t been repaired.
Before submitting a maintenance request through the Loft app, I went to the office in person to explain the situation. The assistant... property manager told me it was probably just condensation and not a big deal.
After I submitted the request in the app, I didn’t receive any updates. I then had to call the office multiple times before someone answered. I was told someone would come look at it and that I’d get a call back. After waiting several hours with no update, I called again and was told they still didn’t have an answer. When I mentioned that water getting into the wall and causing mold could make a unit uninhabitable under California housing standards, the assistant property manager hung up on me and declined my next few calls.
I even went to the office afterward to try to talk about it in person and the door was shut in my face.
It’s disappointing that something involving water intrusion and mold is being taken so unseriously. At this point I’ve had to contact the county to request an inspection of the leaking siding and mold issue. I just expected basic communication and professionalism when reporting a problem like this.
