Ongoing flooding
I have been extremely disappointed with how my ongoing flooding issue has been handled.
I live in a first-floor apartment, and whenever it rains, water repeatedly comes into my apartment through the baseboards and floods multiple areas, including my bedroom, my children’s room, and my living room. This has happened numerous times, and I have reported the issue to the office and maintenance on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, the problem continues to happen.
There has even been damage to my... daughter’s furniture because of the repeated water exposure. At this point, this is not just an inconvenience—it has become a serious issue that affects my ability to feel comfortable and safe in my own home.
I eventually went to the office and explained that I wanted to end my lease because I could not continue living with this ongoing problem. Instead of allowing me to do that, I was given the option to transfer to another unit. I was shown a different apartment, I liked it, and I agreed to transfer. I was told the unit would be ready around August 25 and that someone from the office would contact me when it was ready so I could move.
Then, just one day before the expected move date, I was told that the apartment had been given to someone else because I had supposedly failed to provide bank statements. The problem is that I was never told that bank statements were required. I was specifically told that the office would contact me when the unit was ready. Nobody contacted me asking for bank statements or told me that my transfer would be cancelled if I did not provide them.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I have been trying to work with the office and find a solution to a problem that I did not cause. I have been more than patient throughout this entire situation, and I feel like I have repeatedly had to chase answers instead of receiving clear communication from management.
Unfortunately, the communication and handling from management has left me extremely frustrated. I am simply asking for a safe, dry place for my family to live and for the issues I have reported to be taken seriously.
