Disabled Veteran leased apartment with Roaches
The apartment they moved us into had Roaches. We were supposed to move in on Sunday Aug 28 , but was called two days before to say we can't because it's infested with roaches. We would be homeless at this point so they put us up in a one bedroom for the week so they could get rid of the roaches. (Which made us have to move ALL our stuff twice) We asked Will if they checked the other units for roaches and he said he did personally. When we got to move grandma in- who is a retired disabled... veteran- there were still many roaches in her 2 bedroom apartment.
She could not unpack her stuff or cook there because of all the roaches. Again we were told by Will it was just our apartment that had roaches and all the others were checked. We had to get our grandma out of the unit for 4 hrs and her cats for them to treat. The one week we did that nothing was done- which we did not find out till the following week because the pest control guy did not have a working key. No one told us till the next week when we talked to Adam. We had many issues getting a working key ourselves. I finally asked 3 different residences near our apartment and None were checked for roaches. So we were lied to. They finally checked the other apartments and one was infested bad and another had a few. We were also told our apartment was Treated 5x before we moved it. Adam, who did the pest control said only 2x.
It's frustrating enough to pay so much a month for a new apartment and it have roaches. But to be lied to and given different info from a few people made it worse. A retired disabled 76 year old army veteran had to sit in an apartment full of roaches that were supposedly taken care of for almost a month. She had to live out of boxes for 3 weeks until being told last week of the month she can unpack. Plus they were still caulking stuff the first two days she moved in and stove was disgusting- took weeks to get that cleaned and new burners. We even went to Dawn- who is above Will, about the issue a few times.
