How Is This Rating Determined?

Avoid! Horrible corporate owners

First I want to start off saying the actual management team is fantastic, prompt and polite and all my complaints aren’t on the management team but the howthorne corporation.
From the day they took over they raised rent by 30%, they increased a forced valet trash from $2 to $20. They then increased trash revenue but then removed ALL the DUMPSTERS. I’ve got to take a 10 min trip to throw my trash away. I asked about it and was told “it’s the residents fault, they removed it because the residents... sometimes don’t put things in the dumpster.” So their solution is remove the dumpster because some how that’ll make things cleaner????
Sadly we just resigned our lease right when they took over. Definitely won’t be resigning

If I could rate this apartment complex, it would be a "3/4" out of "10" and this is high only due to the location of the community. It is located near the highway [which is super convenient]. This number is also based on the style of the apartments, which are not bad BUTTT it is not worth the price, apartment issues and the level of stress you will experience dealing with the leasing agents. I will be moving soon to another place because i am highly disappointed & does not reflect the luxury... living you are paying for

Cortland management has provided excellent customer service. They were extremely helpful and flexible with our move-in experience and continue to provide consistent service to this day. The apartment was in excellent shape when I moved in. The amenities Cortland offers are stellar. And this is a pet-friendly community.
