East Mountain Apartments

I am a new Geisinger hire wanting a reliable apartment complex as close as possible to one of the main campuses, and EMA doesn't fail, being literally across the street from Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. In fact, during my first couple days residing at EMA, I saw plenty of young and old people alike walking around in scrubs, most likely residents and perhaps staff or locum tenens hires, respectively. If you're in healthcare and need short, medium, or even long-term housing, this place is... for you!

The staff is wonderful and accommodated a 2 day delay in my arrival as I had a preexisting surgery training commitment en route from Georgia, but I was easily able to get all my utilities and fiber Internet set up without major issues. The shared facilities such as the gym are excellent with complimentary WiFi even there, which makes you actually want to work out, haha. Being in the Navy Reserve, and knowing the snowy winters up in the hills being from Upstate NY, it was really important for me to have reliable fitness facilities, too.

The unit itself is great--I'm in a 2 bed, 1 bath, and the kitchen and bathroom are well updated, as are the floors throughout, which are LVT equivalent. Like others, my unit has a cute little deck accessible from the living room where you can sit out to have your morning coffee or enjoy the last minutes of daylight before sundown.

The location is ideal, not just because of immediate proximity to GWV but also a straight shot up I-81 or local roads to other Geisinger sites (GCMC, GSWB, etc). It's super safe and the tenants are all respectful of privacy and quiet--you can just tell by the assemblage of cars in the lot. I'm not one of them, but there is a charging station for EVs as well.

I intend to transition to a homeowner again in a year's time, but this arrangement was absolutely ideal for my short and medium term needs. The same management runs another complex elsewhere in Wilkes-Barre if you need 3-bdrm units (which EMA does not have--important to know). No complaints thus far, and I doubt I will have all that many over the next year.

Maintenance staff is amazing- very efficient, professional and friendly.

The winding hilltop driveways of East Mountain Apartments lead easily to the buildings, each of which have a pleasant aspect of breezeway entrances, well-tended shrubbery, and views, either of the valley, the woods, or the vast interior meadow where people can readily stretch their legs. Office staff is friendly and attentive, and maintenance staff is prompt in their planning, working, and finishing up.
