MOLD + CAR BREAK INS + ROACHES + SCAM move-out charges

I lived here for 4 years and just moved out. If this review were only about the front desk and maintenance staff, it'd be 5 stars: they were consistently kind and helpful. Unfortunately, everything else made this a low-quality experience, and I've since steered several coworkers (I work nearby) away from leasing here.

The rent looks competitive against nearby complexes, but factor in the hidden fees and you'll end up paying the same or more than a nicer property. The model units are also not...
representative . the model has hardwood floors, but most actual units have old, worn carpet.

1. UNSAFE - repeated car break-ins
My car was broken into, along with many others'. check the other one-star reviews for a pattern. The gate is broken more often than it works, and there are no cameras. Management did not respond with any real security measures.

2. HUGE ROACH PROBLEM
My first unit had german roaches from move-in day. In my second unit, neighbors reported the same issue. These are REALLY hard to get rid of.

3. MOLD ISSUE
The buildings date to 1999 and show it. Our AC unit leaked badly enough to cover the ceiling in mold. We submitted 5 maintenance requests, promptly each time, including after a replacement done by the cheapest shadiest contractor they could find but none of it fixed the problem. We ended up moving out early because the mold was making us sick.

4. SCAM move-out charges
In my first unit, there were pre-existing bleach stains on the carpet when I moved in. When I moved out, I was charged for carpet replacement I wasn't responsible for, and disputing it went nowhere.

In my second unit, we paid the optional $175 "Smooth Move Out" cleaning fee. The signed form describes this as covering "standard cleaning of the entire apartment." We were later charged additional cleaning fees on top of that. When we disputed it, management's response was that residents are expected to have the unit "reasonably cleaned" before the paid service even begins, and that the service "does not replace the resident's responsibility" to clean - a distinction THAT IS 100% NOT ON THE CLEANING FORM WE SIGNED.

Whats the point of paying for the cleaning service when I am expected to clean the entire apartment anyway? Why was this not clear on the form? I feel very mislead and scammed. When pushed further, they pointed to clauses in the lease that essentially trap you. SUPER UNFAIR AND UNREASONABLE.

Third year here

This is my third year living here, and it truly feels like home. The staff are consistently friendly and familiar faces, which creates a strong sense of community. On the rare occasions I’ve needed maintenance, they’ve responded quickly and taken care of the issue right away. Rent cost is decent in my opinion given the amenities, and location of the complex. The location is a huge plus for me, everything I need is just minutes away, from great restaurants and a movie theater to my eye doctor and... local markets. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience living here!

Great property for the price

Living in an apartment always comes with some challenges, however, Lantana Ridge has the best and most responsive maintenance and front office staff I've ever encountered. They are friendly, courteous, and prompt! Shout out to Lizy in the front office for always responding and being on top of things!
And bonus, the prices are fair.

Two Years of Disappointment: A Complex to Avoid for Peace of Mind and Work-from-Home Comfort

I've lived in this apartment complex for two years, and it has been quite an experience—unfortunately, not a positive one. During my time here, I've witnessed almost 30 car break-ins, often waking up to the sound of shattering glass in the early hours of the morning. If you decide to tour this complex, I strongly suggest taking a look at the vehicles to see which have been targeted. This has been an ongoing issue for over five years, according to what I've learned.

What’s most upsetting is the...
lack of urgency in addressing emergencies. My fiancé and I once returned home to find our apartment filled with strong fumes—unsure if it was a gas leak or chemical fumes. We called the complex’s emergency line, but we never received a response from the maintenance crew, leaving us to fend for ourselves.

Additionally, the trash pickup service, which was reliable in the first year, has become random at best since a new company took over. They can come as early as 6:00 p.m. and as late as 3:00 a.m., and sometimes, the trash is just taken out of the bins and left on the ground until the next day. To make matters worse, there's a persistent cockroach infestation that the management seems unable or unwilling to address.

Our building is also located next to a construction site, meaning we're constantly disturbed by loud music, hammering, and heavy machinery throughout the day. If you work from home, this construction noise would be a huge issue, and I strongly recommend looking at other complexes.

Given my experience and the cost of living here, I do not recommend this apartment complex. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place with a better reputation, there are plenty of other options in the area.
