Monterra Village

My move-in experience has been the best, especially with the help and communication from the staff from the first day of me walking in and touring my apartment. Everything has went smoothly. I couldn’t ask for anything better as soon as I walked in I was greeted with respect and open arms, Melani and Madison were very helpful and had answers to every question that I asked not only is the staff great, the apartment is very nice, especially if you like new and updated appliances, wood flooring,... and more. If you just move to this area, I would highly recommend this apartment complex and last the amenities with three luxury pools two gyms and access to a cool chill vibe at the office with pool table, ping-pong and more. Management runs this place so bad. They don’t update you on anything and the office staff works about half of the time they are supposed to be there. Lack of Communication is frustrating here.

Someone wrote a review awhile back about Monterra taking their money, and I can see how that is true now. It has been a nightmare trying to get my deposit back. I was told that my check was lost somehow. Last week I went in office to ask about it and was told that I would be issued a new check. I was told it would take 1-2 weeks. I was called later that day and told that it would be mailed out by Monterra in a few days (Tuesday or Wednesday). I asked if I could pick it up in person so that we... would not have any issues with it being lost again, and I was told that was fine. I call today to get an update and I get told that it would be 30 days now by the same leasing agent that said it would be ready for pick up today or tomorrow. If you are looking at leasing here, STAY AWAY. I would also like to mention that while we lived here it was nearly impossible to reach the office or get a response sometimes. That should tell you what kind of place this is. I will be filing a complaint to the better business bureau.

I would not recommend getting an apartment here. The staff in the leasing office is absolute terrible. We had a terrible experience, we had a short term lease here for 3 months while waiting for our house to be completed, when our lease was 60 days from expiring we did not have a closing date and communicated that to the staff. They said "That's fine, let us know as soon as you have a closing date." At no point did they say we would still be on the hook for 60 days of rent. We finally got... our closing date 45 days from our lease ending, and now they want us to pay for a 2 full months of rent after telling us it was fine. If they had said "That's fine but you will still have to pay 60 days worth of rent from once you know your closing date" we would have told them then and there to just assume we were leaving when we had originally planned.
They have terrible communication skills then when their employees give false information refuse to work with you. I can only imagine staying here long term would be far worse. My advice, find somewhere else to live. Read More

Once your lease is signed, you go from community resident to a name on a spreadsheet that pays them money.
-1 star for the apartment manager who refuses to communicate unless it’s weeks later in an email. Don’t expect a call back.
-1 star for safety as break ins happen semi often.
-1 star for quality of living.

The 2 stars are for the amenities (when they are actually open) and the location.
