Movie-in experience
I recently moved into this apartment after taking a tour, and unfortunately, my move-in experience has been disappointing.
The leasing process itself was not a pleasant experience, as I found the leasing agent to be rude and unhelpful. After moving in, I discovered several issues that I did not expect:
- The AC thermostat/control was not working properly.
- Several closet doors were not functioning properly.
- There were bugs in the carpet.
- Two bedrooms do not have ceiling lights or fans,... and there is not even wiring/connections available for them.
- The kitchen appliances are very old, rusty, not working and noticeably worn out.
To be fair, the maintenance team has responded to some of the issues. They fixed the AC control and closet doors, and a pest-control appointment has been scheduled.
However, when I raised concerns about the missing lights/fans and the condition of the appliances, I was told that I should have checked those things during the tour.
I’m sharing my experience mainly to help future residents. If you are considering moving here, I strongly recommend thoroughly inspecting the specific unit before signing or moving in. Don't just look around during the tour—test the thermostat, open and close every door and closet, check every appliance, inspect carpets and corners for pests, and verify the lighting, fans, outlets, and electrical connections in every room.
My intention is not to discourage anyone from renting here, but to make sure future residents know what to check so they don't encounter unexpected issues after moving in.
