Even One Star is Too High a Rating

Do NOT move here.
The apartments are overpriced, in poor condition, and the customer support is abysmal.
They put up units for rent that are NOT ready to be moved into. I was asked to delay my move-in due to cabinet damage. I couldn’t afford to delay so I said that I didn’t mind the issue with the cabinet doors, only to arrive on move-in day to find the patio storage had its lock removed, the hot water in the bathroom sink didn’t work, the kitchen tap was leaking, and there were cockroaches...
everywhere. There was even a painted over cockroach in the closet. I contacted the front office to ask about pest control and never received ANY response.
Within the first six months of my living there, the water had to be shut off 12 times. The dumpster regularly overflows, with mattresses and furniture left out beside it for weeks at a time. Good luck getting through to the office if you need anything! Even if you call during their office hours, you’ll get the office voicemail 9 out of 10 times, and you will not get a call back no matter how many times you leave your name and number.
The worst of all is the office manager, who checked me out when I left. She neglected to make me a copy of my paperwork, then lost my keys and forwarding address. She then claimed I never turned in my keys and withheld my deposit. I received no communication via phone or email about this. Instead, a document was uploaded to my resident portal - which had changed twice in the weeks leading up to my move-out, so I wasn’t even sure I still had one - almost a month after I had moved out. A month and a half after I moved out I inquired about my deposit, and that was the first I heard about this issue. I was given the run-around for months, and when I finally got tired of listening to the office voicemail I decided to go to the office to try resolving this in person. While there, the manager had the audacity to claim she never forgot a face and had never seen me before in her life, while also saying she had to deal with hundreds of people and couldn’t possibly keep everyone’s information straight. This, despite it being her literal job to manage the office and keep everyone’s information straight.
I spent every day at the Dayton planning to move out the second my lease was up, and I hope that this review saves anybody reading that trouble. If you are desperate for a place to stay in Plano, there are many places that are both cheaper and far better maintained. Stay far away from the Dayton.

BAD business practice

lived in summer meadows for 11 years. New owners took over now the Dayton. Rent increased up to a high amounts for the area and age of units. leases has added expenses like a CAM charge for $120.00 a month, along with other fees. I wish I could move right now. very disappointed. Office person drives a "Vet" and parks in handicap and tenants assigned parking slots.

Stay Away

I have lived at Summer Meadows for a few years. I do not recommend it and am leaving. The customer service is the worst. Asking a simple question to those in the office will have you greeted with nastiness. You see them as they drive their golf cart with self importance and they won't speak to you or acknowledge your presence. When asked about lease issues they were very nonchalant about move out rules and then changed their tune when the move came. The worst!! Just trying to get you. Stay away... from this one.

BE CAREFUL!

Be very careful of this place if you have pets. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THEIR ENTIRE CARPET REPLACEMENT. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU HAVE PETS. THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER.

Management is very good

Summer meadows management people are helpful and communication is good. We booked this apartment from Los Angeles so I expected that the leasing office people should be good. So far everything is going well. Will update more about the community soon.
