Honest review from a current resident – Does not live up to luxury expectations

I’ve been a resident at The Rise at the Boro for some time, and I wanted to leave an honest review.
Unfortunately, this property is very poorly managed and does not deliver on the “luxury” experience that is advertised, especially for the high rent we pay.
Major ongoing issues:

Elevators: Two out of the elevators have been down for nearly 3 months. During peak hours, the remaining elevators are often overcrowded (especially because the building is pet-friendly), and residents frequently...
complain about the situation. The working elevators regularly get stuck on one floor, meaning there is effectively only one elevator servicing the entire building most of the time. The concierge does not seem to monitor or actively manage the elevators to keep them running efficiently.
Common areas: The lobby and mail room look shabby and poorly maintained. For a luxury building, the condition of the paint and finishes feels outdated and neglected.
Management and maintenance: There is a clear lack of leadership from both property management and the maintenance team. HVAC systems frequently malfunction and require resetting. We’ve experienced multiple instances with no water. A new property manager started recently but has been largely inaccessible, and after more than a month there has been very little improvement. Some maintenance staff and office personnel can be unapproachable, which makes residents hesitant to ask for assistance.

Overall, living here has become stressful due to these constant problems — especially when you’re trying to get to your car on time or deal with daily inconveniences. I cannot recommend this property to new or prospective residents unless you’re okay with ongoing frustration.

Amenities & Common Areas; Years of Neglect

I have lived at Rise for well over two (2) years. The entire time, and continuously after many complaints by many residents, across two (2) management Companies, many amenities continue to not work in the gym and common areas.

The entire 27th floor of Rise (common area) was flooded and horribly damaged before Christmas of last year. Nothing has been repaired on that floor 6 months later. I don't expect it to ever be fixed. Funny enough the leasing agents tell prospective tenants they are...
"upgrading it" - absolute lie.

As a result of the flooding only one (1) elevator (out of five (5) worked for months. Then two (2) worked. Lines would queue to go up or down. None of the TVs can be controlled in any common area. Always told some issue with the cable boxes. Two (2) years later still issue with the cable boxes.

Gym equipment that doesn't work been sitting there for years, previous residents told me they didn't work for years before I got there.

Rise is very expensive, yet does very little to maintain the common areas. STAY FAR FAR AWAY!

Stolen vehicle from unsecured garage

I had my vehicle stolen from the parking garage of this building 3 days ago. Because for the last few weeks the security gate for the entry has been broken (nonexistent). This allowed the thieves to drive in, break into my car, and drive away. There is also no security, despite paying a few thousand dollars for rent a month, I had my car stolen from an unsecured garage in a building with no security. The Property Manager has been slow to act, and not forceful enough in finding a solution. Other... than a "sorry" this happened, there has been no acknowledgement of the building's responsibility. Residents should also be aware that this is happening in the building. They have not sent out an email to alert resident to date.

Steer Clear!

I have lived in an apartment here for three months, a one bedroom with the WDU Program. I think is important for me now, after only three months, to give a review because of how terrible living here is.
The building across the street is currently being demolished which I can hear in my apartment (on the 12th floor) every weekday from 7 am (when I get waken up) to about 4 pm. This began about a week after I moved in and has not stopped, the noise is so loud that I have a constant migraine and...
have gotten anxiety attacks. I have talked to two separate people in the leasing office about this and sent emails into the leasing office but they haven’t responded to any of the emails or acknowledged it when I told them in person. Keep in mind I was also not informed of the construction before moving in and the construction is being done my the apartment complex, they are building a new apartment complex across the street. This means the noise with continue and all concerns about that will inevitably be ignored too.
Next, safety in this building is very poor. There have been multiple car break ins and thefts in the building. Additionally, the doors that require keycards don’t close all the way, there was about two months where one of the doors from the garage didn’t close so someone could easily walk through the garage and into the building. There are also constant fire alarms sounding in the building.
When looking at the apartment, I really liked the amenities but now I realize how misinformed I was about them. Concerning the gym, I would definitely be careful about what equipment you use because they aren’t all in good condition and definitely can cause you injury. Concerning the study rooms, please realize that the walls aren’t thick, you can hear everything from the other study room and the hallway (found this out during a work call).
Honestly, I chose this apartment because I thought it would be a nice quiet place to live and I was very wrong. While writing this, I kept trying to think of one good thing about this apartment and I honestly can’t, there are so so many problems that I chose to not include in this in order to not make it too long. Please stay clear of this apartment complex, I think it says something when the staff doesn’t even care enough to respond to its residents and if I feel the need to post this after only living here three months.
