Extremely Disappointing Experience — 12+ Years as a Resident
We have lived here for 12+ years, dating back to when this property was still Ventura Del Sol, and unfortunately, the difference since it became Sofi Ventura Apartments has been shocking.
When it was Ventura Del Sol, we had an overall great experience. The community was quiet, peaceful, and well-managed. The management was responsive, the amenities were good, and parking inside the complex was rarely an issue. There were strict... parking rules, which helped ensure that residents actually had access to parking.
Unfortunately, after the property was sold and became Sofi Ventura, it feels like everything went downhill.
The management has been extremely disappointing. Our water heater seems to constantly have problems, and water shutoffs have become an ongoing issue. What makes it even more frustrating is the minimal communication from management when these problems happen. Residents are often left wondering what is going on and when basic services will be restored.
And then there is the parking situation, which has become an absolute nightmare.
Parking used to be one of the things we never had to worry about. Now, finding an available space can feel like a daily battle. The overflow areas are frequently full, leaving residents with no choice but to park their registered vehicles on the street, where they are obviously less secure than inside the gated community.
What makes the parking situation even more frustrating is learning that there apparently isn't a reasonable limit on how many vehicles a resident can register. For example, two people living in a one-bedroom apartment can apparently register multiple vehicles, potentially taking up parking spaces that should be available to other residents who actually live here. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why parking has become such a mess.
Looking back, we probably should have left when we started seeing so many of our longtime neighbors move out after the property became Sofi Ventura. That should have been a warning sign.
It is incredibly disappointing to see a place that was once quiet, peaceful, organized, and enjoyable deteriorate this badly. After more than 12 years here, we have experienced the property under two very different management eras, and the difference is night and day.
12+ years of residency, and sadly, we would not recommend Sofi Ventura Apartments to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-managed place to live.
