The neighborhood is quiet and tucked between the intercoastal Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico. It's a 2-minute walk to the beach, and the property is attached to the Okaloosa Island Beach Access #1 Boardwalk. The Santa Rosa Sound is also a minute or two away, connected to the boardwalk. Okaloosa Island is known for its less crowded beaches and is about 10-15 minutes from Destin. The neighborhood is conveniently located near a variety of dining options, entertainment venues, and shopping destinations.
Due to being on an island with a tropical climate, you may encounter tropical insects, amphibians, and fish. The space is treated regularly for pests, but during storms, insects may invade spaces to get away from the rain. Snakes such as water moccasins are seen on occasion, especially near rocks. Swimming in the bay carries risks due to aquatic species. Check-in is at 4pm or after, and check-out is at 11am. Guests are asked to notify the host of their expected arrival time at least 6 hours in advance. A $500 smoke damage cleaning fee will be charged if any sign or smell of smoke is encountered. Pets are not allowed at this property. No events or vendors are permitted. Guests are responsible for reporting any hazardous items within 2 hours of check-in. The property is not child-proofed. Guests agree to pay for any damage made by themselves or their visitors. Host, or Host's Agent may enter the Property at any time in the event of an emergency, to perform necessary repairs and/or maintenance, and with 24 hours’ notice for normal maintenance. Host shall not be liable for personal items left behind. Illegal substances are strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate eviction. Host shall not be liable to Guest for any injury, loss or damage to any person or property. Guests agree to pay any documented loss of host income created by Guest violating house rules. The cost to replace any lost or damaged keys is $25 per key. Guests are asked to dispose of food in the trash can and use the garbage disposal for small food remnants only. Guests shall not re-key or change out door locks. Guests are to be respectful of neighbors and keep noise to a minimum, with quiet time from 10pm to 8am. Any disturbance triggering a visit by police will require immediate eviction. All items in the kitchen have been counted, and any item removed from premises will be charged to the guest. Guests are asked to be respectful of bed sheets and towels, and to avoid using them with makeup, face medications/creams, or tanning products, as un-salvageable linens/bath towels will be charged to the guest. Indoor and outdoor furniture is not to be re-arranged. An additional cleaning fee of double the cleaning cost can be charged if additional cleanup is required that goes above the standard cleaning.
